Now, Streams Charts has revealed some interesting data about how well Black Myth: Wukong is performing on Twitch. Not only was it the most-watched game on Twitch during its release, with 5.58 million hours watched on the platform, surpassing popular games like Grand Theft Auto 5, but it also peaked at 485,300 viewers on Twitch, being only surpassed by non-gaming streams. Additionally, Black Myth: Wukong has surpassed Palworld as the most watched 2024 game on its release date, with 5.58 million hours watched against Palworld’s 4.76 million.

Streams Charts also highlighted some other details, noticing that Black Myth: Wukong also had a big impact on Russian and Chinese-speaking streams. Despite 39.5% of the game’s coverage still being in English, Russian streams had 12.6% of the views, and Chinese ones had 11.3%. Also, the most popular Twitch channel streaming Black Myth: Wukong was, unsurprisingly, Asmongold’s alternative Zackrawrr channel.

It’s not surprising to see Black Myth: Wukong being so successful on Twitch considering how popular the action game has been since its release. On its release day, Black Myth: Wukong broke records on Steam by peaking at 1,443,570 concurrent players, surpassing the numbers of essentially all other games on the platform except for PUGB: Battlegrounds.

Black Myth: Wukong’s developer, Game Science, has also revealed that the game was a huge financial success. Black Myth: Wukong sold over 10 million copies in only three days after its global launch, becoming one of the biggest hits of 2024. As a comparison, Elden Ring’s massively popular Shadow of the Erdtree DLC sold around five million copies in the same timeframe, which attests to the huge popularity of the Journey to the West-inspired game.
