Summary
- A player shows off an impressive 900 attack power in Black Myth: Wukong.
- Some feel it's not high enough to defeat bosses in New Game+.
- The community debates the difficulty of completing New Game+ multiple times.
One gamer decided to show off to the Black Myth: Wukong community and post their Destined One's attack power. At an incredibly high number, it's likely that other Black Myth: Wukong players haven't reached this level in their attack skill. Commentators weighed in, and many still feel it's not high enough.
Black Myth: Wukong was released in 2024 and is inspired by the classical Chinese novel Journey to the West. Gamers take on the role of a monkey protagonist who must seek the different body parts of the legendary Sun Wukong of myth. Along the way, they will meet various characters inspired by the myth and learn different attack types. Gameplay-wise, it is an objectively difficult soulslike with mechanics that are new to the genre. Considering its heightened difficulty, having a really high attack power can feel completely unattainable
How Black Myth: Wukong Compares to DBZ
Black Myth: Wukong and Dragon Ball Z may seem to be distinct franchises, but there's an underlying lore detail that forms a comparison basis.
Redditor demnklnr posted a screenshot of their in-game Equipment Menu, featuring the Destined One's statistics on the right-hand side. The character's attack power is highlighted in yellow, showing an impressive 900. Their other statistics are also incredibly impressive, but none as much as their attack power. Additionally, the player's Destined One is wearing the Mythical Pilgrim's Set, which can be obtained by upgrading the armor pieces within the Pilgrim's Set. However, some commentators believe that all of that still won't be enough to defeat some bosses in Black Myth: Wukong's New Game+.
Black Myth Player Shows Off Impressive 900 Attack Power
Other commentators chimed in, taking the conversation in a different direction and focusing on whether New Game+ for Black Myth: Wukong is easy. More specifically, players began discussing how many times they've been able to complete New Game+, considering that it can be replayed multiple times while allowing players to keep their items, skills, and Will. It seems that despite demnklnr's achievement, the real conversation is if players found it to be one of the more challenging New Game+ modes in a soulslike game.
The screenshot does not indicate which playthrough of the game's New Game+ the player is at. However, judging by the amount of Will they've earned, it appears they have been playing for many hours. Hopefully, demnklnr also managed to complete other in-game milestones along the way, including achieving the platinum trophy and collecting all of the Spirits in Black Myth: Wukong. Otherwise, people in the comments will likely think they didn't try hard enough.
