If you haven't collected the item, fast travel to the Marsh of the White Mist Keeper’s Shrine. Opposite the shrine is a tree that has a golden vine. Approach it and collect the Luojia Fragrant Vine. Return to the Shen Monkey and upgrade the overall gourd charges.
There are other gourds that can be obtained as you progress through the story. The Trailblazer's Crimson Gourd is among the easier ones to obtain. If you pre-ordered the game, you should have the Trailblazer's Crimson Gourd, which has a special perk. It allows players to recover all lost HP, provided the gourd is full.
