Armor is without a doubt essential in Black Myth: Wukong, as it will protect players from incoming damage. Armors are mostly crafted in the game, but a certain condition must be met to unlock them as a craftable item.

How To Craft Armor In Black Myth: Wukong

Crafting armor in Black Myth: Wukong takes place at the shrine, the safe space the Chosen One uses to rest and replenish energy. The option to craft armor is available after defeating certain bosses like Guangzhi in the Forest of Wolves.

Head to any keeper shrine and choose Craft Armor to see the available options. There will be four categories in total; Headgear, Chest, Arms, and Legs.

The most common item required for crafting is Will, and you can obtain it through several methods. The most common one is by defeating bosses and using the Gourd to absorb the green flame floating in random places. Surprisingly, breaking pots will also reward Will in small quantities. Other common materials are Yarn and Silk in Black Myth: Wukong, and both are available in the Store of the keeper shrine.

How To Unlock New Armor In Black Myth: Wukong

While occasionally players might stumble upon a piece of armor when opening a chest, new armor sets are mostly unlocked after defeating certain bosses. For example, in Chapter 1, both Guangzhi and Whiteclad Noble bosses reward new garb. The former unlocks the Pilgrim’s armor set and the latter unlocks the Serpentscale armor set.

Each set comes with Unique Effects that buff the Chosen One’s abilities in certain categories. Note that players need to wear the correct number of armor to activate the Unique Effect. For instance, the Pilgrim set possesses the Swift Pilgrim Effect that allows you to sprint faster if you equip two pieces of the armor set and will also increase attack while sprinting if you equip all four. It’s not always the same number, though, since the Serpentscale requires only three armor pieces to activate its Unique Effect. Some pieces of armor even have an extra effect, like the Pilgrim’s Headband, which also allows the use of a Gourd while sprinting.
