Black Myth: Wukong is an epic action game boasting a vast variety of bosses and mobs. There are over 70 bosses in the game, some of whom are hidden and require players to look at every nook and cranny.

Designing the bosses is a challenge in itself; developers have to make sure that they do not come off as boring. To tackle this problem, they have added numerous mechanics, one of which is the status ailments. There are a total of four, and understanding them is key to overcoming the enemies in Black Myth: Wukong.

Black Myth: Wukong All Status Ailments

As previously stated, Black Myth Wukong has four status ailments. These are:

  • Shock
  • Burn
  • Poison
  • Chill

Each ailment has a different effect on the character's health and movement. So it is mandatory for Black Myth Wukong players to understand the difference between them.

Status Ailment

Effects

  • Shock
  • When the character is afflicted with Shock, he will take more damage than normal. Being affected with shock while fighting the boss can lead to a lot of trouble. It is better to cure it as quickly as possible.
  • Burn
  • When the burn gauge is filled completely, the character will catch fire and repeatedly lose HP. Many bosses will use this status effect to lower your HP.
  • Poison
  • Poison is deadly and dangerous. When the character becomes poisoned, he will lose health slowly. Poison will go away on its own, but it will take a while before it does.
  • Chill
  • Chill is introduced in the later areas of the game. So, Black Myth Wukong players won't immediately encounter it. Upon being inflicted by Chill, the character's HP will suffer.

How To Get Rid Of Status Ailments

If players get afflicted with burn, they can get rid of Burn by simply rolling around multiple times. Players can do so by repeatedly tapping the Dodge button. To cure poison, players will have to use the Antimiasma Powder. It is a type of consumable that can be crafted using different herbs that are scattered all across the world of Black Myth Wukong.

Collect all the ingredients that you find on your travels, as they are needed to make medicine.

Shock and Chill can be cured by using the Powder. It can be crafted once you beat a giant toad in Chapter 2.

Aside from using these methods, players can increase their resistance to status ailments by unlocking new skills. Given how quickly the buildup occurs in a boss fight, it is better to invest some skill points to improve resistance.
