Some Black Myth: Wukong players are having great difficulty fighting Wandering Wight, one of the game's mini-bosses. After much anticipation, Black Myth: Wukong is out for PC and PlayStation 5, allowing players to finally check out one of this year's most anticipated releases.
Developed by Game Science, Black Myth: Wukong is an action RPG based on the Chinese classic Journey to the West. Players control the character known as “Destined One,” an almost identical copy of Sun Wukong, the Monkey King, and one of the characters from the Chinese novel. Throughout the game, players will encounter many boss fights, with some split into multiple stages, but all proving significantly hard. Among these characters from Black Myth: Wukong, one turned into a nightmare for players.
Black Myth: Wukong Is More Than a Journey to the West Adaptation
Black Myth: Wukong may have initially appeared to be a Journey to the West adaptation, but its timeline and original elements speak differently.
Wandering Wight is proving to be a big challenge for Black Myth: Wukong players. There is no shortage of comments from players impressed by the difficulty of fighting against the miniboss, such as Twitter user RealMarcFoxx, who said he had “died at least 10 times” during the battle against the character. The sentiment is shared by other players on Twitter and even in Reddit posts, with users saying they got “absolutely bodied” by him, while other players said they “died 20 times” or “spent 2 hours” just to defeat him.
Wandering Wight is one of the Black Myth: Wukong Minibosses
The encounter with Wandering Wight is particularly challenging as it is in the early stages of Black Myth: Wukong. At this point, players still don't have a very high health pool and haven't unlocked many skills. Meanwhile, the Yaoguai Chief is fast, his stomp attack has an extended hitbox, he can punch the ground and create one or more explosions around him, and he has high health. The fight against Wandering Wight is optional, but for players who are up for the challenge, it's necessary to go to the Wolf Forest near Outside the Forest Shrine in the first chapter to find him.
Although it went viral, Wandering Wight isn't the only miniboss in the first chapter of the game. In addition to him, Black Myth: Wukong players will face Guangzhi, who attacks with his fire glaive. Bullguard is the gatekeeper of the mountain who carries a massive axe, which he swings when attacking players. Baw-Li-Guhh-Lang is a giant frog whose movements are based on jumping and swinging his arms. Guangmou relies more on ranged attacks such as projectiles and spinning to create a wind explosion around him.
