On July 3, 2025, it was confirmed that Yuki Tabata's Black Clover is returning with three new chapters on August 12, 2025. This is obviously big news for fans, as they have been waiting for ages to learn more about their beloved series. The release of the three new chapters means that fans will get to see Asta and his friends in action once again.
While the manga's return is big news, it has been overshadowed by the announcement of the anime's second season. According to the report, Black Clover's second season/sequel is currently in production. The Black Clover anime has been on break for years now, and there was little to no news about its return. Thankfully, all of that has changed. Black Clover fans can rest easy as they know their new favorite series will make a return in a couple of years.
Why Is Black Clover Manga On Hiatus?
Yuki Tabata is a talented mangaka, and there's no doubt about that. However, after working tirelessly for years on the manga, it was imperative that he would develop health complications. Yuki Tabata isn't the first manga author who has developed health issues due to strenuous work.
In fact, several popular mangaka, including Eiichiro Oda and Yoshihiro Togashi, have struggled with their health. Yuki Tabata made the correct call and decided to ease off on his work.
Why Is Black Clover Anime On Hiatus?
The Black Clover anime went on a break because it was catching up to the manga too quickly. So, the studio decided to take a break to increase the gap once again. If the anime had caught up to the manga, it would have had to release an obnoxious number of fillers, which would have been detrimental to its popularity.
A good example is Naruto. The first part was solid with a moderate number of fillers, but Naruto Shippuden was a completely different story. According to statistics, Naruto Shippuden had more than 40% fillers, which is rather absurd. Thankfully, Pierrot made the right decision with Black Clover. With the new announcement, fans will be hoping the anime will return in 2026.
Black Clover is available to stream on Crunchyroll.
