Shonen Jump is undoubtedly the biggest magazine for all shonen series, but it has been undergoing some major shifts. Just last year, some of its biggest series, such as My Hero Academia and Jujutsu Kaisen, came to an end. It didn’t end with MHA and JJK, however, as other series are approaching their end as well.
Black Clover, once one of the most popular new-gen manga series, is also close to ending. Black Clover’s next chapter releases, dates for early 2026, have the label of Super Climax. As fans who have followed the ending of JJK and MHA know, this means the series is ending very soon. It’s unclear how many chapters the series still has to go, but it can be said with absolute certainty that 2026 is the year Black Clover ends forever. Readers are excited to see how the story ends, but also saddened to see Asta’s adventure being over. At the very least, the anime is returning soon, and that's certainly going to add a new element of excitement to the franchise.
Black Clover Manga Approaches Its End
New Chapters Labelled As The Super Climax Of The Story
Black Clover was among Weekly Shonen Jump’s biggest manga series at one point. The series was comparable to the likes of My Hero Academia, but it has definitely fallen in popularity and performance since. Black Clover’s fall mostly has to do with long hiatuses. The series creator, Yūki Tabata, faced some health issues, which slowed down his work. With the manga on hiatus, the anime also had to take a break due to a lack of content to animate. Nevertheless, despite all the issues, Yūki Tabata is determined to finally see his story through. Black Clover is in its final arc, and the final chapter is fast approaching.
Black Clover’s next chapter release will be in Jump GIGA 2026 Spring. This manga saw a massive release on January 5th, which put the story on course to conclude. The next edition is likely to conclude the story for good, which means that the fans only have a bit longer with Asta and Yuno. When MHA and JJK were ending in 2024, their last chapters also carried the label of Super Climax, so it can be said with certainty that the manga is ending.
Black Clover’s Manga Will End In 2026
An exact ending date for Black Clover hasn’t been determined yet. The release of the series is labeled as Super Climax, but so were the latest ones in 2025. With Black Clover not having a weekly release, it’s harder to tell when it will end compared to the likes of MHA or JJK. Nevertheless, while fans don’t have an exact date for the final chapter, one thing is amply clear: Black Clover will end in 2026. At this rate, the series could come to an end in either the Spring or the Summer issue of Jump GIGA.
Black Clover’s Anime Will Return in 2026
While the Black Clover manga ending in 2026 is very sad, it doesn’t mean the franchise is over. Indeed, the ending of the Black Clover manga is actually great news for the Black Clover anime.
The Black Clover anime is returning in 2026, and it can now fully adapt the manga without having to worry about catching up to the manga. Fans are definitely excited to see what Studio Pierrot has in store for this beloved anime series.

Shonen Jump Takes Big Hits As Many of Its Big Series End
Black Clover’s conclusion will mark the ending of yet another major Shonen Jump series. Even though Black Clover lost popularity over the years, it was still a relatively big series. Black Clover’s ending will come about a year after the end of MHA and JJK, and things are definitely not looking great for the magazine. Other big series, like Sakamoto Days, are also approaching their end, and Weekly Shonen Jump has to find replacements.
Weekly Shonen Jump now seems to be betting everything on Kagurabachi and Ichi the Witch, and hopefully, these two series pick up in the future to become pillars of the magazine alongside One Piece.
