Summary
- February 2025 has a slew of major game releases with titles like Civilization 7 and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
- Big industry players like Ubisoft and Sega are contributing to the stacked February 2025 release schedule.
- The month wraps up with highly-anticipated titles like Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii and Monster Hunter Wilds on February 28.
Recent announcements have made February 2025 absolutely stacked when it comes to new video game releases. Traditionally, February has not been one of the busiest months for the gaming industry. However, that has changed in recent years, with more publishers pushing their games out of the holiday shopping season window and to February instead.
We saw this in 2022 when Elden Ring and Horizon Forbidden West arrived on the scene, and again in 2023 with the release of the mega-popular open world Harry Potter action-RPG Hogwarts Legacy. Now it seems that 2024 will continue the trend with what is quite easily one of the busiest Februaries the gaming industry has seen to date.
Monster Hunter Wilds PC System Requirements Revealed
PC players who want to discover Monster Hunter Wilds now know exactly which configuration they need to fully enjoy Capcom’s upcoming game.
Ubisoft recently announced that the Assassin's Creed Shadows release date was being delayed from November 15, 2025 to February 14, 2025. Sega, meanwhile, announced that the next entry in the Like a Dragon series, Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, would be releasing on February 28. These two announcements combined with the games that were previously confirmed for February 2025 ensures that it will be a huge month for the gaming industry.
Major New Games Releasing in February 2025
- Civilization 7 (PC/PS4/PS5/Switch/Xbox One/Xbox Series X) - February 11
- Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 (PC/PS5/Xbox Series X) - February 11
- Assassin's Creed Shadows (PC/PS5/Xbox Series X) - February 14
- Avowed (PC/Xbox Series X) - February 18
- Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii (PC/PS4/PS5/Xbox One/Xbox Series X) - February 28
- Monster Hunter Wilds (PC/PS5/Xbox Series X) - February 28
Things get started on February 11, when two major releases drop on the same day. On that day, gamers can look forward to the highly-anticipated strategy game Civilization 7 as well as the medieval action-RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Then, just three days later, Assassin's Creed Shadows hits the market. Avowed, a major Xbox console exclusive, will launch four days after Assassin's Creed Shadows. Developed by Obsidian Entertainment, Avowed has shown plenty of promise and should be one of 2025's more exciting releases.
February 2025's new game releases will wrap up with Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii and Monster Hunter Wilds, both set to launch on February 28. Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii won't be on the same scale as Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, but it's said to be bigger than Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name. Monster Hunter Wilds, meanwhile, may very well be the MVP of February, delivering the long-awaited follow-up to Monster Hunter World and bringing the popular co-op franchise to modern hardware in a big way.
Now, it's entirely possible that some of these games will be delayed, but even if one or two are pushed back, February 2025 is stacked regardless. There's also time for other games to announce February 2025 release dates, so it may become an even busier month as the weeks go by.
