Now, in the aftermath of Ubisoft's cancellation of The Division Heartland, fears were reignited, and fans once again wondered if Beyond Good and Evil 2 would be next on the chopping block. Fortunately, insider Tom Henderson responded to users who echoed this concern on Twitter, with Henderson claiming there was hope for the series and that production was still underway. However, the leaker additionally claimed the development itself was "complicated," which might hint at ongoing problems with development.
Beyond Good and Evil 2 Development Hit by Setback After Setback
Henderson did not elaborate on what issues might be complicating Beyond Good and Evil 2's production, but it wouldn't be the first time the series' production stumbled on its way to a full release. Beyond Good and Evil 2 has already been hit with several shake-ups and scandals since its official announcement. Most notably, series director Michel Ancel, who also directed the original classic, reportedly mismanaged the product until he departed from Ubisoft in 2020. Then reative director Emile Morel suddenly passed away in 2023, and there's been no clear announcement regarding who will replace him on the project.
