Bethesda headlined the latest Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase to confirm three games coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 later this year. Bethesda was a big supporter of the original Switch, bringing games like Doom and The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim to Nintendo's first home console/handheld hybrid. Even though Bethesda is now owned by Nintendo competitor Microsoft, it's really no surprise that it is wasting little time supporting the Switch 2.

There have long been rumors about Bethesda games coming to the Switch 2. At the recent Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase, Switch 2 owners were clued in on three games in particular that are coming to the Switch 2 this year. While there will be some fanfare for the confirmed titles, the announcement may very well be overshadowed by certain unannounced Bethesda-published games that fans have been asking to see for years.

Rumor: Starfield Could Be Coming to an Unexpected Platform

A new rumor from a credible industry insider claims that Bethesda's controversial space RPG, Starfield, may be coming to an unexpected platform.

At the Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase, Bethesda officially confirmed that Fallout 4, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered are coming to the Switch 2 this year. Fallout 4 will be first on deck, with that game's Anniversary Edition hitting the Switch 2 in a matter of weeks on February 24. And since it's the Anniversary Edition, it comes with the base game and all the major expansions. Then, on May 12, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is coming to the Switch 2. Oblivion Remastered does not have a concrete Switch 2 release date at the time of this writing, but it's expected to release at some point later this year.

New Bethesda Games Confirmed for the Nintendo Switch 2

  • Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition - February 24
  • Indiana Jones and the Great Circle - May 12
  • The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered - TBA 2026

What we don't know is how these games will be released. It's possible that they will all be Game Key Card games, which could drum up controversy, and it's also possible that there won't be physical releases at all. More information on that front should come to light sooner rather than later, but in the meantime, some fans may be disappointed by the latest Bethesda announcement.

Bethesda fans have been growing anxious for remasters of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. The super-popular Fallout TV show on Amazon Prime has reignited interest in the Fallout series in a big way, making the calls for Fallout 3 and New Vegas remasters even louder. Some fans were expecting the Fallout TV show countdown clock to lead to official announcements of those games, but that didn't come to pass. Others may have gotten their hopes up when Bethesda's Todd Howard appeared at the Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase, only to be disappointed when he didn't talk about the long-awaited remasters at all.

Where Was Starfield?

While Starfield may not be nearly as popular as Fallout, there are still many who enjoy the game and may be interested in a Switch 2 port that lets them take the massive open world sci-fi adventure on the go. Starfield ports to PS5 and Switch 2 have long been rumored, but still have yet to be announced. If Starfield was planned for a Switch 2 release in 2026, one has to imagine that those plans would have been announced at the Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase, but unfortunately, it was a no-show.

Microsoft's aggressive multiplatform strategy makes it seem like a Starfield port to PS5 and Switch 2 is inevitable, but time will tell. There are rumors that Bethesda is planning a massive Starfield update that will bring significant improvements to the game, so maybe that's what we're all waiting on. Whatever the case may be, Switch 2 owners at least have three other Bethesda games to look forward to later this year.
