Blizzard Interactive's Diablo 4 is an RPG that allows for a lot of diverse play styles and character builds. Rather than the more nimble and range-based classes such as the Rogue, many players prefer the brute-force approach. The game's variety of two-handed weapons will ensure that players will have a wide variety of means at their disposal for dispatching both hordes of enemies and bosses alike.

For the players who don't mind taking a hit to give one, and charge head-first into the fray, these weapons should be ideal and represent the most powerful and effective two-handed options in Diablo 4.

5 Ancient's Oath (Barbarian)

Diablo 4 Ancient's Oath

Ancient's Oath is a strong two-handed axe which can be equipped by characters of the Barbarian class. This powerful weapon is said to be under the watchful eye of Ancient Spirits, who bless the wielder with their strength provided that they are worthy. This unique item will only become available to players as a loot drop once they have reached World Tier 3 or 4.

At 702 DPS and 0.90 Attacks Per Second, this is a relatively slow weapon, but it delivers more than enough damage upon hitting its target. The axe also boasts the following buffs:

  • +16.5% Damage To Healthy Enemies
  • +4.5-8% Damage While Berserking
  • +Ranks Of Steel Grasp
  • +9.5-13% Damage To Slowed Enemies
  • +9.5-13.5 Vulnerable Damage

The weapon also has a special ability to launch two additional chains when using the Steel Grasp skill, which will slow any enemies hit by 55-5% for 3 seconds. Overall, this is an extremely powerful weapon and by far one of the best options players of the Barbarian class can acquire. It is capable of taking out hordes of minions and bosses alike, though players will certainly have to put in the hours to obtain it.

4 Fields Of Crimson (Barbarian)

Diablo 4 Fields Of Crimson

Fields of Crimson is a powerful two-handed sword capable of tremendous amounts of slashing damage and available to the Barbarian class. Formerly wielded by Daelyr, the Crane Tribe Warrior, this sword was used to cut through so many "flesh-eaters" that the user could hardly distinguish himself from his enemy, such was the gore that ensued. Much like Ancient's Oath, this unique item will also only become available to players when they have reached World Tier 3 onwards.

Dealing 702 DPS at 1.00 Attacks Per Minute, the sword is slightly faster than Ancient's Oath and deals a similar amount of damage. The weapon also adds the following bonuses:

  • +9% Critical Strike Damage
  • 2.5-4% Rupture Cooldown Reduction.
  • 4.5-8% Damage With Two-Handed Slashing Weapons
  • 4.5-8% Damage Over Time

When using Fields of Crimson, damaging any enemy with Rupture will create a Blood Pool, causing 151-285 Bleeding Damage over six seconds. Enemies within the pool will also take 10% extra Bleed Damage. This rare greatsword is among the best weapons in the game, and is only likely to fall as a loot drop from a very difficult boss in the higher tier worlds.

3 Hellhammer (Barbarian)

Diablo 4 Hellhammer

The Hellhammer is a unique two-handed mace which can be equipped by the Barbarian class. Excelling in bludgeoning damage, this weapon is said to have been wielded by The Demon Prince Ikonoth to slay hundreds of the Heavenly Host before falling himself at the hands of none other than Archangel Imperius. Like other unique weapons, this will become available at World Tiers 3-4, which players can access by completing the Cathedral of Light Capstone Dungeon in World Tier 2.

Hellhammer again possesses 702 DPS at 0.90 Attacks Per Second, making it slower than Fields of Crimson. However, the mace's Overpower damage is huge compared to most weapon affixes. Hellhammer will also grant the following buffs:

  • +18.5 Overpower Damage
  • 1.9-3.3% Damage Reduction from Enemies That Are Burning
  • 4.5-8.0% Damage to Burning Enemies
  • 4.5-8.0% Damage with Two-Handed Bludgeoning Weapons
  • 6.0-9.5% Damage To Crowd Controlled Enemies.

This weapon will also cause the Upheaval skill to ignite the ground and burn enemies for an additional 294-420 Damage over three seconds. The Hellhammer lives up to its name, creating a fiery torrent wherever it is swung and causing massive amounts of stackable fire damage.

2 Overkill (Barbarian)

Diablo 4 Overkill

Overkill is another unique two-handed mace which can be equipped by the Barbarian class. This weapon is said to have been forced from the heads of two swamp snakes whose sadistic manner is noted as inflicting as much suffering as possible upon their victims before death. Overkill is, again, a ranomized loot drop for World Tier 3 and 4 players, but is likely only to come from large boss fights such as World Bosses.

Overkill will hit the same 702 DPS as the other elite two-handed weapons, and at a swing rate of 0.90 Attacks Per Second. Like the Hellhammer, Overkill also has +18.5 Overpower Damage, which is bonus damage based on the sum total of the player's current Life and Fortified Life. Overkill will also grant:

  • 4.5 - 8% Critical Strike Chance Against Injured Enemies
  • +13.0 - 20% Damage To Injured Enemies
  • 4.5 - 8.0% Physical Damage
  • Additional 13.5 - 24.0% Overpower Damage

This weapon also has a special ability for the Death Blow skill, causing a shockwave which will deal 16 - 30% of the skill's Base Damage to enemies. Any enemies killed by this ability will then cause Death Blow's cooldown to reset. This fittingly named mace is perfect for clearing out hordes of enemies, and due to the nature of it's attack bonuses, it makes finishing off bosses easy too.

1 Bloodless Scream (Necromancer)

Diablo 4 Bloodless Scream

Bloodless Scream is a unique two-handed Scythe for the Necromancer class, largely recognized as one of the most overpowered classes in the game. This infamous weapon was written about in Canto II, Verse XI of the Ebon Pages. The weapon is described as being wielded by a woman who hacked her pursuer to pieces within, forever scarring the memory of the author with the sheer look of horror before the victim's death.

Bloodless scream will deliver 702 DPS at 0.90 Attacks Per Second. It has a special ability to grant the player +16 Life Per Kill as it saps the souls from its victims. Additionally, the scythe will grant:

  • +4.5 - 8.0% Damage to Chilled Enemies
  • +4.5 - 8.0% Damage to Frozen Enemies
  • +4.5 - 8.0% Darkness Skill Damage
  • 17.5 - 28% Cold Resistance

This weapon also adds a chill effect to the Darkness skill, which will cause enemies up to 40% base damage. On Lucky Hit, the weapon will cause the Darkness skill to generate 2-5 additional Essence against Frozen targets. This chilling and aptly named Scythe seems truly appropriate in the Diablo 4 universe, and will claim the souls of swathes of enemies as it cuts them down like wheat.
