As shows about superheroes go, The Boys could not be any further from typical. A corrupt group of super-powered individuals with superiority complexes and a whole host of other problems, against a ragtag team of misfits and underdogs that are looking to get the upper hand on the top dogs. It's a violent, gritty show that perfectly blends comedy with tension, delivering a much more mature viewing experience than people may be used to.

The show is set to release its fifth and final season within the next year, so now is a good a time as any to jump into the world of The Boys and fully appreciate the craft and talent of both the showrunners and actors. And, with a second season of the spin-off Gen V on the horizon and another spin-off in the works, there will be plenty more content to enjoy when the main story concludes in just a short while.

Created by the mastermind behind the smartest show on TV, Solar Opposites blends irreverent sci-fi chaos with biting social satire. The series follows a team of aliens who crash-land on Earth and try to assimilate into suburban American life, with wildly unpredictable results. While the main story is packed with the kind of over-the-top absurdity and crude humour that fans of Rick and Morty will appreciate, there are more than a few hilarious subplots to keep things interesting throughout the seasons.

Despite early behind-the-scenes changes, including a key voice cast replacement, the show has managed to maintain its offbeat charm and energy. With its sixth and final season confirmed for 2025, now is the perfect time to catch up before the series wraps. Its fast-paced humor, surprising emotional depth, and relentless creativity make the show one of the most unique animated comedies out there.

Wednesday took the world by storm when the first season debuted in 2022, and it quickly launched the character and story into the spotlight. A monotone, contradicting girl sent off to a school that houses a wide range of mythical creatures and bizarre individuals, the show perfectly captures the essence of the original Addams Family, and brings in some modernity to keep the story feeling fresh.

The second season is on the way, and it is unclear whether there will be more of the tale down the line, but as the waiting time between the seasons proved to be rather long, there is no telling when or if another installment will be released. For that reason alone, it is the perfect show to binge over a weekend and to fully immerse in a dark and gloomy world that has plenty of charm and comedy as well.

The show dives deep into the chaos of adolescence, personifying everything from hormones to psychological conditions as grotesque monsters with their own personalities and quirks.

Based on the equally chilling novel, The Handmaid's Tale is one of those shows that is best experienced completely blind. A brief introduction to the world is that women's rights have been stripped away, and fertility has become a sort of commodity, leading to a haunting setting that is so unsettling and chilling that it begs the question of how it could get any worse.

The show has remained a relevant piece of fiction as it plays on real-world issues and maintains a tense and harrowing narrative that has continued into the most recent season. The final chapter is on the way, and being able to watch the finale first hand as it comes out is the best way to experience any show, particularly one that is so bleak and brutal.

Squid Game needs no introduction. A deadly set of games, each involving different skills from strength to intelligence, all in the name of entertainment for the outsiders and monetary gain for the one lucky winner. One of the few non-English language shows that has really made an impact in the West, the second season only served to build on the success of the first, and, with a third on the way, the conclusion will be one that viewers won't want to miss.

From the violence to the dialogue to the overall setting and set design, everything about the show is near perfection, and the attention to detail is frightening at times and continues to surprise and amaze viewers even to this day. For anyone who didn't catch the first two seasons, the greatness is only a few episodes away and in a short while, the games will meet their end, whether for good or for bad.
