Another thing that Haikyu!! Does really well is that it enables fans to really get to know the other teams in the show, both those that cross paths with Karasuno in a competitive setting and even those who don’t like Fukurodani. There are some really impressive athletes on all these teams, and this means there is a question of which team is the best.

10 Ubugawa High

The Team Of Servers

Ubugawa was one of the four teams that participated in the Tokyo training camp along with Nekoma, Karasuno, Fukurodani, and Shinzen. While not much is said about them, what is clear is that they are a strong team.

They won against Shinzen regularly and also defeated Karasuno quite a bit. What was so unique about them was the way they used their serves, which is a powerful weapon. A team full of elite servers will always do well in volleyball.

9 Date Tech High

The Impregnable Wall

Date Tech is a school from the Miyagi prefecture and is one of the strongest in the area. Their biggest strength remains their blocking ability, which is characterized by the quiet giant, Takanobu Aone.

Aone doesn’t do it alone as he is ably helped by Fukiage, and with the other team members also ready to help out, they are difficult to break down. Their abilities in blocking are impressive and varied, with Aone able to read block effectively, and with Futakuchi also on the team, they have a wildcard that can make things happen.

8 Aoba Johsai

Tōru Oikawa Is A Genius

Aoba Johsai are one of the strongest teams in the Miyagi prefecture and are regular opponents to the top school, Shiratorizawa. They have a well-rounded team that does everything really well, but the true ace of the team is their charismatic setter and captain, Tōru Oikawa.

Oikawa is a dangerous weapon with some truly powerful serves that elevate the team’s offensive power. They are far from a one-man team with players like Iwaizumi and first-year Kindaichi (a former teammate of Kageyama) also there to round out the team.

7 Nekoma High

Teamwork’s The Name Of The Game

Nekoma was one of those teams where there is no standout ace, but they work so well together. But then, they added Lev Haiba, an athlete with distinction who is something of a freak. But, outside of him, the team are able to make use of all their skills.

All this is orchestrated by the surprisingly diabolical Kenma. Kenma might not seem like much, but he is incredible, and his ability to break down a game in his head is what is able to help Nekoma win so many matches. They also have team captain, Kuroo, whose reliability and experience stabilize the team.

6 Fukurodani Academy

Bokuto Is A Mercurial Talent

Fukurodani Academy has one of the best spikers in his age group in the country in Bokuto. Behind him is a supporting cast that also features Akaashi and Konoha, both players who are very strong.

Fukurodani’s only problem is Bokuto himself. While a clearly special talent, he is also a little volatile and is capable of amazing things while also able to completely hit the dumps when he isn’t feeling it. Unfortunately, while the rest of the team is strong, they lose a lot when Bokuto is not at 100%.

5 Kamomedai High

The Real Little Giant

The only shame is that there are no real matches featuring Kamomedai High in the Haikyuu! Anime, with that being in the realm of the manga. But, what was clear was that Kamomedai had a true titan in Hoshiumi.

The little giant, whose leaping ability is incredible, is the ace of his team, and this makes him a direct rival to Hinata. In the manga, they are also the team that ends Karasuno’s dreams, and they deserved to with their amazing blocking ability and Hoshiumi’s power.

4 Shiratorizawa Academy

Miyagi’s Strongest

Shiratorizawa were the team to beat in the Miyagi prefecture, and they made it to Nationals on a regular basis. On top of that, they had one of the country’s most prodigious talents in Ushiwaka. The powerful wing spiker was like a one-man army who was able to do it all with unbreakable will.

Apart from him though, there was also the malicious Tendo, who’s ability to read his opponents made him a strong blocker. Behind Ushiwaka was also Goshiki, the one who was set to take over from Ushiwaka as the ace. With such a strong team, it is no wonder they are one of the strongest teams in the series.

3 Karasuno High

The Mentality Monsters

As the protagonist team, and the squad that is most followed, it is easy to underestimate Karasuno’s ability. They are a powerhouse with one of the very best offenses. Azumane, Tanaka, and Hinata are excellent spikers, and Kageyama is a genius setter.

While their defense isn’t considered as impressive, they do have very strong defensive ability. But, what makes Karasuno so amazing is their mental strength and desire to be the best. When things look bleak, they are able to drag themselves up and find a way.

2 Inarizaki High

The Miya Twins Are Unstoppable

The teamwork between Hinata and Kageyama is always highlighted as one of Karasuno’s strengths. But, the teamwork between twin brothers Atsumu and Otsumu Miya, rivals, if not overshadows that of the protagonists.

They lost to Karasuno, but it is very likely that if the two teams faced off again, Inarizaki will take the win. Not only are the Miya twins incredible, but they also have a supporting cast of players that are all geniuses in a sense. This is why they are considered the ultimate challengers.

1 Itachiyama Institute

Sakusa Is One Of The Best Players In Japan

Itachiyama are like the villain that is talked about all the time, and even before their appearance, it is clear that they are strong. It would be difficult to put out a full squad for Itachiyama, but what fans are presented with are players who are the best in their position.

This ranges from Sakusa, who is considered the top highschool spiker, to Komori who is considered the best libero in highschool. With a team that’s star-studded from top to bottom, they are indeed worthy of their title.
