Oguri Cap is an incredibly flexible racer in Umamusume: Pretty Derby, and she's one of the best characters for players who want someone that's universally good. She's fairly easy to train, and unless you're gunning to become the best player in the game, you should have no trouble bringing Oguri Cap to general races.
Oguri is great for Mile/Medium races as a Late/Pace runner. If you're having trouble getting her to win more races, here's a guide to help you figure out which things you should be focusing on when training her in Umamusume.
Umamusume: Pretty Derby - Haru Urara Build and Stats Guide
Haru Urara is one of the most popular Umamusume characters, and she's a solid late-race runner that can pull off some exciting victories.
Best Stats for Oguri Cap in Umamusume: Pretty Derby
As a Late/Pace runner, Oguri Cap performs best when you train her Speed and Power equally. Speed will let her overtake slower racers, while Power will let her break ahead of the pack by increasing her acceleration. Equally distributing training between Speed and Power should give you the best results throughout Career runs with Oguri, but make sure to also train her Stamina. For convenience's sake, you should train her stats according to the following priority order:
- Speed = Power > Stamina > Wits > Guts
Why Speed and Power over Stamina?
Stats in Umamusume are responsible for your characters' performance during a race. The Speed stat determines your Uma's maximum speed, while the Power stat determines how well they can break ahead of the main group. For Oguri, Power comes over Speed, as she needs it to push through groups.
Oguri Cap has an A-rating for both Late and Pace aptitudes. She reserves most of her strength for the tail-end of the race, which means she doesn't need Stamina as much other Umas. Stamina determines how long characters can keep running at their top speed, and since Oguri gains Stamina while leveling up Power, she doesn't need to train here as much.
In summary, spam Power and Speed when training Oguri. The rest of her stats will grow naturally.
Best Support Cards for Oguri Cap in Umamusume: Pretty Derby
For Support Cards, we recommend 3 Power, 2 Speed, and 1 Wits. The first two are important since you'll primarily be pumping those stats up when training Oguri Cap, and 1 Wits card is good for helping Oguri increase the activation rate of her skills during a race. Some good cards to use for Oguri are:
- Tokai Teio [Dream Big]: Excellent card for Late/Pace runners.
- Super Creek [Piece of Mind]: Solves most of Oguri's Stamina issues while also providing Power on good track conditions.
- Special Week [Tracen Academy]: Increases Power gain when the card reaches Level 40. Additionally, it gives the Homestretch Haste skill, which is very good for Late Surgers.
- Aoi Kiryuin [Trainer's Teamwork]: Decreases Energy cost for training while reducing training failure rate.
- Tokai Teio [Tracen Academy]: Increases Power gain when training after the card reaches Level 40. Additionally, it gives skills that help Umas navigate when stuck in the middle of a pack.
