The Spinnerex is a Toxin-imbued whip that can do a few special things in Warframe. Whips are already great at hitting many targets at once, but this one takes it one step further by potentially causing enemies to explode on death. It's a fun weapon to use, and with the right setup, players can take the Spinnerex all the way to the endgame.

The following is a template for the Spinnerex that players can use as a reference for building this weapon. Keep in mind that builds in Warframe aren't set in stone, and they highly depend on what mods you have and how many resources you invest in a weapon.

Warframe: Spinnerex Mod Setup

The following mod setup requires an Orokin Catalyst and one V-Forma. More Forma is required for maxed-out mods and better flexibility overall.

This is a hybrid crit/status build that takes advantage of Spinnerex's innate Toxin damage and good base stats. It's also very flexible when it comes to elemental damage preference and Melee Influence compatibility.

The key mods for this build are:

  • Condition Overload
  • Galvanized Elementalist
  • Galvanized Steel
  • Blood Rush
  • Weeping Wounds
  • Coiling Viper Stance

These form the core of the build, and with them, you'll be hitting yellow and orange crits (with occasional red ones) as well as high Status Effect damage from whatever elements you choose to use. Eventually, your screen will devolve into a mess of pretty lights and silly damage numbers.

This build was tested and proven effective against level 200+ Steel Path Techrot and Scaldra in Hollvania. With a bit of modification to its elemental damage, it will also work well against other factions.

Elemental Options

Warframe Spinnerex Build Performance

Speaking of elements, reserve at least two mod slots for 60/60 Element mods like Voltaic Strike and Volcanic Edge. The Spinnerex has a base Status Chance of 40%, making it extremely potent at applying statuses for Condition Overload and Galvanized Elementalist.

Using an element that's effective against whatever faction you're fighting is always recommended, but if you're looking for a generalist build that should prove effective against most enemies, use Blast by combining Heat and Cold damage.

If you use two elemental mods, you should have one more mod slot vacant. Often, the best mod to use here is Magnetic Rush, which gives you Magnetic Damage and Attack Speed. It's great for dealing with Eximus units.

Melee Arcanes

There are two good options here: Melee Influence and Melee Afflictions. The former is good for all weapons that can take advantage of Status Chance and Electric procs, while the latter is good for spreading more Status Effects if your weapon has innate Lift or Knockdown effects — the Coiling Viper stance gives Spinnerex both.

Melee Influence will let you nuke entire rooms with Status Effects. Meanwhile, Melee Afflictions will let you melt targets a little faster. Influence is generally stronger than Afflictions, though in practice, you'll be achieving the same thing with either of these Arcanes equipped.

Warframe Saryn with Spinnerex

Naturally, melee-focused Warframes like Valkyr will work great with Spinnerex. Saryn is also a good choice thanks to Toxic Lash, which adds a massive damage boost to your melee attacks.

For Warframe Arcanes, consider either Arcane Fury for bonus base melee weapon damage or Arcane Strike for bonus attack speed. Either of these will work well, and which one you choose boils down to personal preference.
