This animated series started on Fox before its cancelation. After finding a new audience through Adult Swim reruns, new episodes were ordered to air on Comedy Central. Years after that ended, it was once again revived on Hulu. One never knows what they might get with Futurama.

Some episodes are all about laughs, while others might bring viewers to tears. Others are genuine science fiction stories that would feel right at home on Star Trek or the Twilight Zone. While characters change and develop throughout the series, it also lends itself well to watching standalone episodes.

This blend of horror and science fiction revolutionized television when it debuted in 1993. The show managed to creep viewers out, while still adhearing to the rules and regulations of primetime television.

The show ran for nine seasons before getting two more revival seasons in 2016 and 2018. With so many episodes under its belt, The X-Files is known for experimenting and pushing the boundaries of its format. Some episodes were genuinely terrifying, while others bordered on self-parody. Outside the series, several video games were produced, along with two feature films.

The 16 Best Family Guy Episodes, Ranked

Although there have been plenty of great episodes over the years, the very best Family Guy episodes are in a league of their own.

The show features numerous cutaway gags that often have little to do with the actual plot of the episode, but this inanity and randomness is what the show is all about. The show still has its character-driven moments and relevant themes in some of the more serious episodes, but it never becomes a social commentary like South Park.

Despite NBC having its own streaming service with Peacock, many of the network's shows are still available on Hulu. 30 Rock is one of the best comedies available on the service.

Series creator Tina Fey stars as Lulu Lemon, the showrunner of a fictional sketch comedy show that mirrors Saturday Night Live. Followers of pop culture will get a lot more out of this show than casual viewers. However, there is still a ton of pure comedy to appreciate, even if many references fly over one's head. The actors are at their peak from episode one up until the series finale.

Few people remember that Aqua Teen Hunger Force is a spin-off of Space Ghost: Coast to Coast. The series is about a talking milkshake, a talking meatball, and a talking set of fries living in a run-down New Jersey neighborhood. The absurd concept is enough to draw viewers in, but they will stay for the genuine humor and comedic violence that often plays out in an episode.

It is not uncommon for episodes to end with characters dying or the protagonists' next-door neighbor, Carl, being transformed into something hideous, only for everything to be perfectly normal in the next episode. Episodes are also only between eleven and twelve minutes, so each idea plays out quickly.

This series is a continuation of the 1992 film of the same name, but watching the movie is not vital to starting the show. In fact, creator Joss Wheadon was extremely disappointed with how the film turned out, and the series is closer to his intentions for the story.

The titular character would be an otherwise normal high school student, if it were not for her destiny to combat supernatural forces of evil. Despite the outlandish concept, the show always remains focused on human drama. The early seasons in particular are about how confusing and miserable high school can be.

Modern Family is the clearest evolution of the family-focused sitcom. It is a single-camera sitcom with clear inspiration from The Office and Parks and Recreation, but the humor and themes are just as comforting as the many sitcoms of the 1960s and 1970s, only more palatable and relatable for modern audiences.

The show lasted 11 years, offering viewers a chance to watch characters grow up and become adults. This also gave the creators opportunities to tell different stories in later seasons that weren't possible when the show began.

Keep the kids out of the room for this one. It's Always Sunny In Philidelphia follows several friends who run a bar, but it is really about the schemes and ideas the most irredeemable group of people can come up with. Hilarity always ensues in these episodes, which often cross the border of good taste.

Danny DeVito became a regular cast member after the first season, and the actor's antics on the show only proceeded to make it more unhinged. Each actor in the show has their own projects, so seasons do not come out as regularly as before, but it is still running and shows no signs of ending anytime soon.
