Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens was the first ever open-world Star Wars game to be created by Lego. While players may not be able to freely explore wherever they wish to go during the main story of the game, once this aspect has been completed, players can then travel to any of the planets visited during their playthrough to freely explore the open world.
Players are able to experience not only the story of The Force Awakens but even the world around it differently as they build structures, find collectibles, and take part in epic Lego battles among the stars.

In this Lego title, the developers, TT Games, put a heavier focus on players exploring Gotham City as Batman, Robin, and plenty of other DC superheroes to put a stop to the devious plans of the supervillains Lex Luther and the Joker.
With how large Gotham City is, players will have to use the abilities of the various heroes to traverse the landscape, like flying as Superman or running at unknown speeds like the Flash. Thankfully, those who don't have such useful powers, such as Batman, can still make an entrance, as players can unlock the Batmobile or even the Batboat.

Out of all the available Lego open-world titles, unsurprisingly, one of the best has to be Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. Like Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens, players are given plenty of planets to explore while also giving them various characters to play too, from across the entire saga.
This means characters that may have never met will now be able to work together to complete challenges and quests while adventuring in co-op. Revisiting these old levels to find secrets as a character that has never been there before is not only entertaining but also allows players to discover even more in this humongous open-world sandbox.
