Diablo 4: Season of Infernal Chaos is all about remixing class abilities with special Chaos Powers. Every class has a set of unique Chaos Perks that drastically change how they play, but in order to draw out the most out of these powers, players will to get a ton of Infernal Warp first.
Infernal Warp is a resource in Diablo 4 that's specifically meant for upgrading Chaos Powers. It might seem that they just drop randomly, but once you know how Infernal Warp drops actually work, you'll find swimming in them in no time. Here's what you need to know about farming Infernal Warp, as well as one simple trick to help improve your odds at getting more of them.
Diablo 4: Best Season 10 Barbarian Leveling Build
Here's a nigh-unstoppable, one-button Barbarian leveling build for Diablo 4 Season 10 using Shouts, Frenzy, and the Dual Threat Chaos Perk.
How to Farm Infernal Warp in Diablo 4
Infernal Warp drops from Chaos Rifts and Chaos Demons, albeit in low quantities. You'll find them all over Helltide areas and inside Nightmare Dungeons that have the Chaos Rifts modifier. It's up to you which one you want to farm, just keep the following in mind:
- Chaos Rifts in Helltides can be destroyed by other players. If you're not in the area when one does get wrecked, you won't get any rewards. However, Chaos Rifts in these areas respawn, which means you can keep looking for new rifts for as long as a Helltide is active.
- There's no telling how many Chaos Rifts are inside Nightmare Dungeons. You'll either run into a lot or a few, but if you're running dungeons solo, you'll have all the rifts for yourself.
There's no problem if you complete Chaos Rifts together with others, so if you find yourself in a populated instance, try tailing a few players and check if they're actively looking for rifts like you. Better yet, ask them to form a party with you.
Maxing out any of the Chaos Powers in Diablo 4 requires ~1500 Infernal Warp.
Where Should You Farm Infernal Warp?
You can absolutely farm both, but if you want to get as much Infernal Warp per hour as possible, then you should go and do Helltides. Sure, the competition against other players is going to be a bit of a pain, but you can mitigate that to a degree by turning off Diablo 4 crossplay. You can do this by going to the Options->Connect menu.
By turning off crossplay, you'll only encounter players on your current platform, potentially reducing the number of other people who are running around a Helltide zone.
If you want to farm Nightmare Dungeons, you can also look for Nightmare Sigils with the Infernal Warp Reserve modifier. Once you're inside, look for Horadric Caches to get Infernal Warp.
Infernal Warp Drop Buff
One thing that's very easy to overlook is a buff that makes enemies drop Infernal Warp when slain. You have a random chance of getting this buff when you kill a Chaos Demon or destroy a Chaos Rift. You'll know it's active when the Infernal Warp icon starts popping up on the bottom of your screen, much like how Obducite would when picked up. If you're playing a ranged character, it should be plenty obvious when this buff is active, provided you're already killing enemies.
In any case, when you get this buff, do your best to slaughter as many demons as you can. You only have 30 seconds to take advantage of it.
