Best Games To Play If You Love John Wick

Nobody could expect the bolster of recent pop culture flair when it came to the internet’s most wholesome celebrity, Keanu Reeve’s newest franchise, John Wick. The John Wick films feature an abundance of well-choreographed action and excitement from a retired hitman who was feared as the best of the best. Watching the John Wick movies, many may want to feel the similar thrills to being so great, and there are plenty of games to allow such a feat.

For John Wick fans, plenty of gaming experiences will test their skills and create the experience they are looking for to become Baba Yaga himself. Many games provide players with a sense of overwhelming odds but an intense skillset to prove why they can be just like John Wick in video game form.

There's been plenty of rumors of a Triple-A John Wick game, but until that day arises, or until a John Wick 5 is brought to the world, players will have to check out these games for some exhilarating action, visuals, and perhaps even appearances from Keanu Reeves himself to get that John Wick experience in the hands of players' controllers and keyboards.

15 The Matrix: Path Of Neo

There have been a fair few games featuring The Matrix, but Path of Neo does it best. Whilst John Wick and Neo are different characters from different franchises, it's hard to deny the impact that the latter has on the former. Keanu Reeves' most iconic roles as Neo and John Wick deserve credit, and in Path of Neo, players will be using a mix of kung-fu and gun-fu, just like John Wick himself.

It might be a tad outdated in terms of gameplay and experience, but Path of Neo is still a fun title for fans of The Matrix, or for those who just enjoy the thrills of feeling overpowered and becoming "The One", to wreak justice upon a virtual world.

14 Fallout 4

Whilst John Wick isn't exactly set in a post-apocalyptic reality set after the atomic bombs fell, there are some surprising similarities between Fallout 4 and John Wick. Firstly, the protagonists are both on a quest for vengeance, wreaking hellfire in their path to find what they so desperately seek. Secondly, comes the gunplay, which is definitely a beloved feature of Fallout 4, as shooting guns feels much better than in previous games in the series.

Players can get to cover and find an arsenal of weapons to use on raiders, mutants, and other creatures that seek the demise of the player, and even better still, they can use the in-depth character creator to create John Wick himself as their protagonist. To make things even greater, they can even have a dog join their adventures thanks to Dogmeat! Luckily, this dog can't be killed.

13 Batman: Arkham Knight

There's a Batman quality to John Wick, and that's probably attributed to the fact that both of them have their own sense of justice, stand outside of the law, and will beat up as many bad guys as it takes to get what they want. Enter Batman: Arkham Knight, the finale to Rocksteady Studios' Batman: Arkham trilogy, and the game where the combat is at its most refined.

It's never felt so good to punch goons and crooks in Gotham City, and Batman: Arkham Knight has it all. Exciting narrative, stellar gameplay, and a car that John Wick himself would love to drive: the Batmobile. Whilst John Wick is no superhero, his prowess and willpower certainly are super, and he would make a great addition to the Dark Knight's roster.

John Wick Chapter 4 features a top-down scene, much like The Hong Kong Massacre. It’s a lot of fun, and the game will have the player’s blood pumping and their heart thumping as they venture through creative and bloody violence.

If fans are looking for an experience that directly ties into John Wick, look no further than John Wick Hex. This fast-paced and action-oriented strategy game will make players John Wick. However, as a strategy game, the control is not entirely in the player’s hands, in their thoughts on what move to make next.

The visuals of this game are artistic, and the color scheme is an incredible vibrance of neo-lights. With John Wick Hex, the strategy and quick thinking of the protagonist are rewarded thanks to the player being John Wick.

10 Grand Theft Auto 5

One of the joys of the John Wick movies is how a rampage can occur in the public streets, and no one seems to bat an eye. Whether it’s a gunfight in a subway or a car chase through Paris, the police seem to take the backseat and watch as the streets become organized violence and gun-fu chaos.

With Grand Theft Auto 5, players will get that same feeling of freedom. Grand Theft Auto 5 features so many locations, cars, and guns that it’s hard not to want to play as a hitman. Players can even make their character look like John Wick, completing the appearance with an iconic car, but without the dog.

9 Fortnite

Not only can players buy a John Wick skin for Fortnite, but the entire battle royale experience feels like one gigantic John Wick movie. Players will have to navigate a large map with many different points of interest, all whilst 99 other players hunt each other and the player. It’s an exhilarating battle royale experience that constantly changes.

No game will be the same, and victory is only ensured by those who have the skills and the smarts. Playing as John Wick in Fortnite will give players the confidence to take on the 99 other players, and earn that Victory Crown to show why John Wick is the best there is at what he does.

8 Max Payne 3

One of the most important aspects of a John Wick film is the combination of kung fu and gun fighting. Max Payne 3 certainly has the latter covered, with a high emphasis on amazing gunplay. With Max Payne 3, not only will players embark as fellow familiar and disgruntled veterans of combat like John Wick himself, but they will also be firing an array of exciting guns.

There are cutting-edge shooting mechanics in Max Payne 3, and some of the best in a video game. Not only is the story dark and exciting, but the gameplay of one man seeking the truth, no matter the fight, brings a highly cinematic and action-packed experience to the player.

7 Dishonored

The story of a talented combatant forced to return as a vengeful assassin may ring familiar to fans of John Wick. Dishonored is exactly that, except it’s in a steampunk dystopian world where the protagonist has supernatural powers. These powers are exciting, and they open many different pathways for how to play the game. Whether that’s through stealth or loud, non-lethal or lethal.

There’s a lot to love about Dishonored, and how every action of the player ultimately matters in the grand scheme of things. The way Corvo Attano works with a blade and the powers of the Outsider makes him someone to fear, much like John Wick himself.

6 DOOM

Metascore: 79

The only thing that demons fear is the Doom Slayer, and the only thing that assassins and hitmen fear are John Wick. The two characters have something in common, and DOOM will make the player feel like John Wick as they blast, rip, and tear through an army of demons from Hell.

Although DOOM isn’t exactly the same as killing a multitude of hitmen, there are still so many enemies, with so many guns and gory fights. It’s the perfect entry into an adrenaline-fueled fight, where coordination and tactical violence are key.
