Despite the pride that a player should feel when showing off these virtual bragging rights to others, there are some trophies that, contrary to their rank, are massively easy to grab, making any achiever less than keen to present these acquisitions to the prying eyes of their peers. Even the typically high-ranking gold trophies can fall into this category, resided to the fate of collecting dust in the deepest recesses of players' PlayStation trophy collections in a vain attempt to conceal the simple ways they were achieved.

10 I'm A Poor Peasant - Jack N' Jill DX

Three white blob creatures against a white desert background

When the addictive nature of trophy hunting began to permeate the wider gaming sphere, some smaller developers jumped onto the bandwagon and released games that were quite short and had easily achievable trophies, with My Name Is Mayo and its multiple sequels arguably being the most famous.

One of these games took the form of Jack N' Jill DX, a single-button platformer whose trophy list is exclusively golden. No trophy within the list is challenging by any means, but 'I'm a poor peasant' requires players to collect a single coin. With coins scattered generously in the first level of the game (there is literally one slightly ahead of the spawn point of Level 1), those who want to nab this gold need only move their joystick lightly.

9 Exorcist - Murdered: Soul Suspect

Playing as the recently ethereal detective Ronan O'Connor, players are tasked with solving their own murder whilst exploring a modern-day Salem, Massachusetts in Murdered: Soul Suspect. The final project of studio Airtight Games, Murdered: Soul Suspect includes a surprising variety in its gameplay mechanics and a trophy list that does not stray out of the regular.

That being said, players will be blindsided by the pop of the gold trophy 'Exorcist' unexpectedly early on in their journey. It is impossible for players to miss obtaining the trophy as it is linked to a story-required defeat of a demon, requiring only a short quick-time event to complete.

2015's The Order: 1886 brings together a myriad of different elements into its melting pot: Victorian London, steampunk esthetics, Arthurian legend, and a whole load of werewolves. As Sir Galahad of the Round Table, players traverse Industrial Revolution-era London felling beast with advanced weaponry created by famed inventor Nikola Tesla.

The Order: 1866 also boasts a delightfully simple trophy list for those looking to expand their cabinets. The gold trophy 'Collateral Damage' tasked players with killing three enemies with a single explosion. Whilst this could be considered more complex on paper, the enemy A.I make this a cakewalk with their tendency to bunch together around explosive barrels during firefights.

7 A Place You Could Call Home - Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Proving that 'AAA' games are not excluded from containing blisteringly easy gold trophies, Respawn Entertainment's Star Wars Jedi: Survivor sees the return of Jedi Cal Kestis and his trusty droid, BD-1. Still on the run from the Imperial Inquisitors, Kestis finds himself reconnecting with old friends and stumbling upon ancient secrets as he travels the galaxy.

The reason why the trophy 'A Place You Could Call Home' is simple enough stems from its requirement being the completion of the main story. With the layered combat and engaging narrative of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor helping them along, players will obtain this gold trophy before they know it.

6 Launch Date - Spyro Reignited Trilogy

Spyro the Dragon with an angry look on his face, ready to attack.

After looking after Spyro for five years in the Skylanders series, developer Toys For Bob helmed the 2018 remake of Insomniac Games' critically lauded entries in the Spyro series. Fans of the little purple dragon were delighted to reconnect with the series' flagship gliding, charging, and flaming antics.

Being a remake of three games, the trophy 'Launch Date' appears in the level Tree Tops of the first game Spyro the Dragon, tasking players with using every supercharge ramp available. It will serve as a quick and enjoyable addition to players' virtual collections, especially for those who do have a history with the originals.

36 Fragments of Midnight is a puzzle platformer where players are put in the shoes of a small white cube whose goal is to collect fragments in a procedurally generated world. Premise aside, this platformer is not a challenging affair for most players with a passing recognition of the genre, and this ease transfers onto its trophies.

In a trophy list filled with easy achievements, the trophy 'Baby Steps' stands out from the crowd due to its painfully simple requirement: get one fragment. With a fragment to the right of the player character every time a new game is started, players could not miss this even if they tried with all their might.

Drawing heavily from off-beat crime TV series such as Twin Peaks and The X Files, Virginia is developer Variable State's love letter to the genre. Experiencing the story through the eyes of the rookie FBI agent Anne Tarver, players are dunked into an exclusively visual story that centers around the disappearance of a young boy in Kingdom, Virginia.

Being an experimental game generally, the trophy description for 'Iris' is cryptic to say the least. However, it essentially amounts to finding two specific items throughout the game and, as long as the player takes time to explore the visually unique world, they will stumble over the required items without trouble.

3 Obscure Dissident - Black The Fall

The protagonist of Black The Fall runs through an empty city

The description 'Eyes wide open' is the only clue players of 2017's Black The Fall receive when attempting to achieve the gold trophy 'Obscure Dissident'. Set against the backdrop of a dystopic alternate Romania, and heavily inspired by the real-world Romanian Revolution, players slip and scurry through a darkly industrial factory to escape their oppressive existence.

Despite the cryptic trophy description, obtaining 'Obscure Dissident' is rather straightforward. When players are faced with a security guard blocking their path out of the factory, two alternate paths are available to them. Taking the lower path using steam as their cover will net players with a shiny new gold.

2 Awake, Dear Heart - Life Is Strange

Chloe and Rachel sit together in an abandoned warehouse

The Life Is Strange series began in 2015 with the eponymous first installment and, since then, has engrossed players in its engaging and often harrowing player-driven narratives. Serving as the only prequel in the series, Life Is Strange: Before The Storm centers on protagonist Chloe Price three years before the event of Life Is Strange as she navigates the trials of getting older in leafy Arcadia Bay, Oregon.

The trophy 'Awake, Dear Heart' requires players to complete the first episode of the game, which amounts to approximately 90–120 minutes of game time. The journey to acquiring this trophy will be an enjoyable one for players, who can fill this time using the game's unique Backtalk mechanic to make Chloe chat some choice language at NPC's.

1 Character Sheet Elite - South Park: The Fractured But Whole

The boys of South Park engage in a superhero battle with the town as the backdrop

As can be deduced from the very title of the game, Trey Parker and Matt Stone's South Park: The Fractured But Whole keeps its roots in the widely successful and long-running animated show it shares its name with. Taking control of The New Kid one day after the events of South Park: The Stick Of Truth, players find themselves in a plethora of uncensored and absurd situations (most of which cannot feasibly go to print) and mingling with various characters from the show.

At first glance, the requirements for the trophy 'Character Sheet Elite' may seem long-winded, expecting the player to max out five titles on their character sheet. However, when one looks into the feats required for such a task, they boil down to the organic completion of the game, leaving players free to enjoy the game's delightfully satirical and unapologetic world.
