The Warfare mastery in Titan Quest 2 is all about combat — this is where the skills for the typical ARPG warrior archetype can be found, and while it may feel underwhelming at first, it can become very powerful and easy to use if you know what skills to take and what synergies to use.
The following is a warrior-style build for Titan Quest 2 that focuses on melee combat. We've designed this build to be as flexible as possible to support a variety of build paths, though it should be strong enough to carry players all the way to the end of the game.
Titan Quest 2: Whirlwind Build
For this build, we'll be using Sweeping Strike with the Whirlwind modifier as our main source of damage, and to boost it even further, we'll be using the Warfare and Storm Mastery trees. Sweeping Strike is going to feel extremely weak at first, but it won't take long before it starts to pick up the pace. Like in other ARPGs, this Whirlwind build is extremely easy to use, making it perfect for Titan Quest 2 beginners.

Unlock these skills in descending order, and upgrade them as necessary.
Sweeping Strike is our only active skill for this build since it's all it really needs to work. Rage Gain and Ramp Up increases the damage you deal with Whirlwind the longer you sustain it. Meanwhile, Siphon lets you deal extra Vitality damage to enemies you hit as you're spinning, greatly increasing Whirlwind's DPS while also giving it a small lifesteal effect. The latter won't let you tank big hits, but it'll let you survive longer in Titan Quest 2's higher difficulties.
Storm Nimbus with either Lightning or Cold Imbuement increases the damage you deal with those elements while also converting your weapon's damage to whichever Imbuement you select. You can't have both at the same time, so we recommend picking based on your preferred Status Ailment:
- Cold damage inflicts Chilled, which deals damage-over-time while slowing enemies.
- Lightning damage inflicts Shocked. Apart from also applying a DoT effect, it also has a chance to disrupt enemies.
Battlefield Awareness further increases the Vitality damage dealt by Whirlwind while also buffing your Armor, giving you more protection against physical attacks.
Storm Nimbus and Battlefield Awareness are aura skills. They must be activated manually, and once they're on, they will reserve a portion of your total Energy reserve. The latter can be offset by high Energy regeneration.

Weapons Proficiency, Combat Rush, and Battle Rage are all meant to improve Whirlwind's damage. They're vital for your DPS early on, and once you get Storm Nimbus, you can combine them with Storm Attunement and Storm Affliction for even more damage.
Arcane Influx is mandatory, though you likely won't need to level it up to 8 until you get both Storm Nimbus and Battlefield Awareness. The Reservation and Energy Regeneration modifiers will be enough to let you spin indefinitely with Whirlwind once you have both of the previously mentioned aura skills active.
Gear and Attribute Priorities
For Attributes, focus on Might and Agility as your main stats and distribute points at a 2:1 ratio. This should let you equip most weapons and armor for either the Warrior or Rogue archetypes in Titan Quest 2.
You'll be constantly upgrading your gear during the early levels, and as you get loot, keep your eyes peeled for anything with the following stats:
- +X Cold/Lightning Damage
- +X% Cold/Lightning Damage
- +Ailment Chance
- +Increased Ailment Power
- +Increased Critical Hit Chance
- +Health Regeneration
- Armor and Resistances
- Movement Speed
Use whaterver items have the higher numbers, but before you replace a yellow item with a blue or white one, make sure that you aren't sacrificing too many of the item affixes above.
