Attachments in every FPS shooter play an important role in enhancing a weapon and making it much more viable to take into combat. Even though not all attachments are good, players have to decide which accessory to pick, which depends on the build they are running.
The DRS IAR is the second LMG that players will get their hands on in Battlefield 6. Despite not being most players' first choice, this is still a very good LMG if players can build it correctly. Since the attachments on the DRS IAR can make a huge difference, the guide below offers an overview of the weapon and the best loadout in Battlefield 6.

Even though the DRS IAR is categorized as an LMG, it functions more like an Assault Rifle. It works great in both medium and long-range fights, as it can deal consistent damage. It has a high damage output, and all classes can use the weapon without the movement penalty associated with it. The high Rate of Fire and the fast reload speed compared to the other LMGs are massive plus points.
When it comes to the weapon's drawbacks, there are a few to note. The first and main drawback is the low magazine size of only 30 rounds. This forces a lot of players to burn through the magazine very quickly and potentially die in encounters where they are facing multiple enemies at the same time. When using this LMG without any attachments, the recoil can be very hard to control, and this makes it sometimes underperform in long-range fights.

The first attachment is the 20" SDM-R barrel, which provides a significant Muzzle Velocity increase of 180. This is a necessity to truly elevate the weapon above other LMGs, allowing its 900 Bullet Velocity to shred enemies in seconds.
To counteract the base weapon's kick, you should aim to unlock and equip the 6H54 Vertical underbarrel as your LMG mastery increases. This grip significantly reduces recoil, increasing precision and control, though it comes at the cost of a slightly slower Aim Down Sight (ADS) speed. Since the base magazine size is a major issue, equipping the 40 RND Magazine is highly recommended. The extra 10 bullets it provides can make a huge difference in sustained engagements.
The MW Green Laser is a cost-effective accessory at only 20 points, offering a reliable increase to hip-fire accuracy for unexpected close-quarters encounters. Finally, for the optic, the PVQ-31 4.00X is the ideal choice. This magnification level makes target acquisition much easier, allowing you to precisely engage targets at long range.
