Dragon Ball GT is the most polarizing Dragon Ball series since its interesting ideas weren’t very impactful to the audience. It’s so forgettable that Dragon Ball video games rarely cover more than one Dragon Ball GT arc. Its representative pool is small, even when compared to Dragon Ball Super.

What makes Dragon Ball GT avoid being completely forgotten is its character roster. Many GT characters have such appealing designs and backgrounds, though only a few are present in most Dragon Ball games, like Goku GT, Gogeta Super Saiyan 4, Baby Vegeta, and Omega Shenron. Anyone else outside the small group is rarely included due to being more niche compared to the most popular GT characters.

Dragon Ball GT: Final Bout was the first Dragon Ball GT game released for the Western audience. The roster holds only more significant fighters like Goku GT, Pan, Vegeta, Trunks, and Piccolo. Many other slots were filled with transformation forms, making them cloned fighters.

One huge issue with the game is the limited Dragon Ball GT representation. Dragon Ball Z characters are more present than GT fighters, including every playable villain. Baby Vegeta is present, though he’s only an unplayable boss character in his golden ape form.

Dragon Ball The Breakers allows the player to abuse a villain’s destructive powers while the weaker human players scour the fields for resources to fight back. One of the more dangerous raiders is Baby Vegeta since he can infect and control civilians to bend his will. He can even infect players to limit their options before preparing them to join his army.

After gathering enough energy, he can transform into his powerful Golden Ape form. It's a great direct experience of how villains grow more menacing, though civilian players can use teamwork and transpheres to borrow enough power to resist the raiders, including Goku Super Saiyan 4.

Dragon Ball Fighterz paid good respect to its fighters, including GT characters. They don’t have a lot of representation, but their designs and movesets are some of the most impactful, like controlling an opponent’s character, strengthening specials in dire situations, or taunting opponents for an insta-kill move.

The only issue about the GT characters is their limited references. They don’t have any dramatic finish scenes except for Gogeta Super Saiyan 4, but it’s only with Gogeta Super Saiyan Blue rather than a more canonical fighter. Despite the missed chance of immersion, they at least have one of the better introductions and win screens in the game.

Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 covers all of Dragon Ball Z while giving access to an open Dragon Ball world. Despite not covering the other Dragon Ball series, its roster includes other fighters like Kid Goku, Uub, and Vegeta Super Saiyan 4.

In story mode, characters like Goku can interact with different world events. Their discoveries and choices can change certain battles, which can result in Goku's sudden Super Saiyan 4 transformation after the Majin Buu arc. This gives him an extra battle to face humanity’s major threat, Omega Shenron.

Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero is the first Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi to release with Dragon Ball Super. The long-awaited rivalry between Super Saiyan Blue and Super Saiyan 4 can be settled within the classic arena fighter.

The GT roster is decent, though the predecessor's more niche fighters like Super 17 and Nuova Shenron were forgotten. While Dragon Ball GT fighters aren't very involved in the main story, they still provide special interactions for certain characters.

Dragon Ball GT: Transformation gives a unique adventure that takes place beyond Earth and Namek. It retells the Dark Dragon Ball hunt in space with Goku GT, Trunks GT, and Pan playable. More characters like Uub are controllable to assist once unlocked.

The main story covers up to the Truffle arc, bringing familiar foes like Emperor Pilaf and Baby Vegeta to stop Goku. This game is one of the few homes for niche villains to shine like Dr. Myuu, General Rilldo, Luud, and Professor Ledgic.

Dragon Ball Z: Infinite World is a major improvement on the Dragon Ball Budokai formula. It covers everything from Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 while adding the movie saga and Dragon Ball GT. Super 17, Baby Vegeta, and Syn Shenron have much more spotlight to showcase their destructive arcs.

Though some characters were dropped, like Uub and Kid Goku, they were replaced with other fighters like Goku GT, Pan, and Vegeta GT. Each character is very different to control compared to the predecessor, giving them more distinct combo routes and moves.

When the Time-Space Tournament is organized in Dragon Ball Fusions, every Dragon Ball timeline is eligible. Characters from all of Dragon Ball can utilize the new EX fusion mechanic to create new stronger beings, including Dragon Ball GT. Goku Super Saiyan 4 and Vegeta Super Saiyan 4 can fuse mid-combat to become the iconic Gogeta Super Saiyan 4 or EX-fuse with other characters to become stronger, unique fighters.

Not only are Goku and Vegeta present to participate, but also other GT allies like Bulla, Pan, Pikkon, and Uub. Even the villains are willing to showcase their strength and fusion possibilities, like Super 17, Baby Vegeta, Nuova Shenron, and Omega Shenron.

Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 portrays the significant battles from the original Dragon Ball to Dragon Ball GT. It covers the three Dragon Ball GT arcs with Super 17, Baby Vegeta, and Syn Shenron. While players can immerse themselves in its available sagas, its storytelling does more telling than showing the events. This can be confusing when trying to learn how Goku GT falls into dire situations against powerful opponents.

One of the cooler aspects of its story mode is its what-ifs possibilities. Some fights can canonically progress like in the anime, having fighters switch or transform when hitting a button prompt. If players don’t hit the button prompt, the fight can continue normally before resulting in a possible alternate ending.

When an alarming threat endangers the Dragon Ball timeline in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, the time patrollers are forced to take action. They go across many eras to fix time interventions from power corruption to forced interactions, like Baby Vegeta fighting against Vegeta GT.

There are also parallel quests that make time patrollers travel to alternate dimensions to fix their issues. This allows them to work with either allies or villains to face different opponents, creating unique interactions. Completing the quests rewards goodies like costumes and skills from the Dragon Ball timeline, including Super Saiyan 4 skin and Goku’s Kamehameha 10x technique.
