Astronite is an action game that takes people on an intergalactic journey. Players can step out of their ship and explore the planet of Neplea. Play as Astronite, a space pilot who has entered Neplea to fight monsters that have invaded his home.
The 2D platformer offers tons of enemies to defeat and puzzles to solve. Astronite must save his home planet from an Entity that has taken over Neplea and its inhabitants. The 1-bit Metroidvania game can be challenging to beat for beginners. Players can pick up power-ups along their way to annihilate bosses on various levels in Astronite. Take a look at these beginner tips for Astronite.
10 Weapons Can Activate Devices
Players can start the game by shooting their way across the map. The gun used by Astronite at the beginning of the game can shoot through blocks that are obstructive. People can use the weapon around the map to find objects that are destroyable. These environmental objects can be reduced to ashes with a few bullets from the gun.
Astronite can use his gun to shoot at the devices in a level to activate them. These long-range weapons can turn on switches and interact with other objects in the game. Beginners can try using the gun to activate all the devices on a stage to open hidden pathways.
9 Use Quick Bursts Of Jetpack
Astronite presents several situations on each level that will require players to use their jetpack. Most of the platforms on a level can be reached by jumping or using the jetpack to fly. Players can use the jetpack for a few seconds to take them higher in any direction.
The jetpack can’t be used to fly far distances. The limited use of jetpack can be used with a combination of moves to progress along the levels in Astronite. Players can also use it to push themselves forward with a quick burst to save time on movements while dashing.
8 Don’t Restart A Level After Losing Lives
Astronite can be hard to complete for players new to 2D platformers. There are several locations between the levels that allow players to save their progress. People can walk up to a scanning machine at the center of certain dungeons to create a checkpoint in the game.
Players have 3 lives at the start of the game. Taking a hit from insects and projectiles from other creatures inside the dungeons will cost a life. Many beginners restart a level from a checkpoint after losing one or two of their lives. Try to complete a level till all 3 lives are consumed before restarting a level to progress faster.
7 Extend The Range Of Attacks Against Kronch
The 1 bit Metroidvania game has loads of fun stages to finish. Players can solve puzzles and use their weapons to decimate huge bosses in the game. Kronch is the earliest boss that players can fight in Astronite.
It is the first boss of the game. Kronch is a happy chunk of concrete that appears to destroy Astronite. Move from side to side to prevent getting smashed by Kronch with his attacks. Kronch will release moving pieces of concrete that will stop bullets from hitting Kronch. Stay at the corner of the screen while attacking to prevent taking damage during the boss battle.
6 Avoid Deep Waters In the Abandoned Grattoes
Players will be able to swim through certain parts of the game after defeating Kronch. Astronite will receive a Shpirti Module to gather Shpirtis after vanquishing Kronch in the game. People can use the Shpirtis gathered to purchase new power-ups in Astronite. Players can spend longer time underwater with an Aquatic Module.
Players can use their weapons underwater to destroy objects. The Abandoned Grattoes has several levels that are submerged underwater. These levels can be completed by spending minimal time in the water. There is a bar that appears on top of Astronite to indicate how long he can spend underwater in each level.
5 Find And Open Shpirti Chests
There are a number of items that can be collected at different stages in Astronite. Players can explore the dungeons of Neplea to find hidden chests that have hundreds of Shpirtis, waiting to be collected.
The first of these Shpirti chests can be found after activating 5 devices in the Abandoned Grattoes. Head past the collapsing pillars and go north on the map to discover a Shpirti chest in the center of the screen. Opening the chest will provide more than 300 Shpirtis to players lucky enough to find it.
4 Attack Enemies For More Shpirtis
Most of the levels in Astronite are lurking with monsters. These creatures take any chance they get to kill Astronite in the dungeons. Beginners may try to prevent attacking the monsters. It may appear easier to finish levels by avoiding the monsters in battle.
Players can take the time to destroy all the monsters on a level for more Shpirtis. Monsters like spiders and crawlers are easy to kill. People can shoot the creatures dangling from the ceiling to collect Shpirtis. Astronite can also recover dozens of Shpirtis by walking through white clouds that are floating around.
3 Use Telephones To Teleport
The vast levels of Astronite may be difficult to cover by foot. The game has a unique teleportation system within the game that uses phones to travel between levels. These teleportation devices ring to indicate that they can be used. It may cost players 25 Sphritis to use their first teleportation device.
Astronite can discover the first teleportation device in the Underwater Caves level. Head south from the entrance of Underwater Caves and take a right to find a telephone ringing. Interact with the telephone to reach the Plains of Emud in less than a second.
2 Visit The Shpriti Shop Owner Frequently
The Shpriti Shop Owner is a shadowy figure that players can find in Plains of Emud. Astronite can head south from the teleportation device and take a right to find the Shpriti Shop. Players can unlock various upgrades and modules from the Shpriti Shop in the game.
Astronite can purchase the Membership Card to reduce the Shpriti required to teleport between levels. The Membership Card requires 550 Sphritis to unlock. The Map Module costs 250 Sphritis to unlock and records the areas that players have visited. The Eyes of Tea upgrade lets players see the health of their enemies and needs 450 Sphritis.
1 Grab The Weapon Upgrade To Increase Damage
Players can grab the weapon upgrade to increase the rate of fire and the range of their weapons. The dungeons of Astronite are teeming with monsters that can take a couple of hits to destroy. The weapon upgrade makes it easier to kill enemies and collect more Shpirtis on each level.
The first weapon upgrade can be found just before entering the High Caverns level. It is kept behind 4 blocks that can be destroyed with the gun. There are multiple weapon upgrades available in the game. The weapon upgrade can also be bought at the Shpirti Shop for 750 Shpiritis.
Released on November 30, 2022, Astronite can be played on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
