Fans are finally going to see the release of one of the most anticipated titles on the Nintendo Switch this year, PlatinumGames' Bayonetta 3. While this game was first announced in 2017, gameplay trailers didn't start appearing until late last year, giving an insight into how the series has changed since the second entry. The latest trailer dropped earlier this month, not only providing fans with more information on the game, but also the release date for Bayonetta 3.

As seen on Nintendo's website and the Switch eShop, Bayonetta 3 will take up 15 GB of space digitally. This is just as big or larger than some of Nintendo's first-party titles like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which are approximately 13.4 GB and 16 GB in size respectively. The fact that the game is bigger than Breath of the Wild is also surprising considering that BotW is an open-world adventure, while Bayonetta games are usually more linear, though it's likely the assets of the game that could contribute to how big it is.

This isn't the biggest game on the Nintendo Switch, with third-party games like Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy's file size taking up 25 GB, for example. In comparison to the other Bayonetta games released on the Switch, the first game takes up 8.6 GB of space. The second game on the other hand takes up 12.4 GB of space, so the progression up to 15 GB makes it seem like the game is escalating a bit, even in assets.

There will also be a physical collector's edition for Bayonetta 3, known as the "Trinity Masquerade Edition," which will include a special sleeve artwork for the Switch boxes of the three Bayonetta games along with a special 200-page artbook. To top things off, the first Bayonetta game will also be getting a physical release after being digital only for Nintendo Switch. This physical releasw will launch on September 30.

Bayonetta 3 will release exclusively for Nintendo Switch on October 28, 2022.
