Battlefield 6 is releasing in a day and age where day one game releases on subscription services like Xbox Game Pass and free-to-play models have become the norm for many in its genre. In fact, Battlefield 6's biggest competitor, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, will be a day one Xbox Game Pass release. Unless plans change, Battlefield 6 will not be on Xbox Game Pass, but there is a subscription service that one can sign up for to play the game without buying it outright.

Battlefield 6 Will Be on EA Play Pro, Not Game Pass
EA has released a FAQ addressing some of the most common questions about Battlefield 6. The FAQ outlines the benefits for EA Play Pro members when it comes to the game. With an EA Play Pro membership, fans can get early access to the Battlefield 6 open beta, the EA Play Deployment pack that contains free cosmetics and an XP Boost, and the Phantom Edition of the game, which retails for $99.99. EA Play Pro costs $16.99 per month or $119.99 per year. The catch is that it's only available to PC gamers, so those on PlayStation and Xbox won't be able to take advantage of the opportunity.
While Xbox Game Pass subscribers are out of luck when it comes to playing Battlefield 6 on day one when it releases October 10, chances are that they will still be able to play a free trial of the game at the very least. The base version of EA Play is part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, and most EA games offer a 10-hour free trial for new games through the service. So technically, there's a possibility that Battlefield 6 will be playable for a limited time on day one through Game Pass Ultimate, but it won't be available to subscribers indefinitely like other games.
Unless EA changes its established patterns, it's highly likely that Battlefield 6 will be added to the base version of EA Play six months to a year after its initial launch. In turn, this would make Battlefield 6 playable through Game Pass Ultimate. So, while Game Pass Ultimate subscribers may not get full access to Battlefield 6 when it launches on October 10, it's likely that they will get it at some point down the line.
