It's been less than three weeks since the release of Battlefield 6, but EA and DICE have already launched the game's first major content update, which includes a new Pro Battle Pass with some huge benefits for fans of the game's Portal mode. It operates similarly to Call of Duty's BlackCell Battle Pass, allowing Battlefield 6 players to unlock exclusive rewards and gain additional benefits that are separate from the standard version of the seasonal Pass.
Season 1 of Battlefield 6 kicked off yesterday, October 28, adding a brand-new map, mode, a plethora of weapons, and more for players to get their hands on. But, if that wasn't already enough, DICE surprised fans with the release of a new Battle Royale title known as Battlefield REDSEC. While progression is tied directly to Battlefield 6, REDSEC is its own standalone title that is completely free-to-play, similar to Call of Duty: Warzone.

Here's how to complete all the Exploration Challenges in Battlefield Redsec and get all those Player Cards for your profile.
Battlefield 6 Pro Battle Pass Allows 100 Player Portal Servers
Whether it's in Battlefield REDSEC or Battlefield 6, fans looking to get their hands on a plethora of new cosmetic items, in-game currency, XP boosters, and more will likely want to purchase the Season 1 Battle Pass. However, there is also a Pro version that can be purchased for $24.99 USD. This premium edition comes with a wide variety of benefits, including a massive one for Portal fans: Pro owners can now host 100-player servers, something other players can't do. Those who own the Battlefield 6 Phantom Edition will already have a Pro Token that can be redeemed for Season 1 if they choose to do so.
Battlefield 6's Pro Battle Pass also comes with numerous other benefits and rewards. Not only does it grant players 25 tier skips for the standard Battle Pass, it also comes with instant unlocks, exclusive assignments, challenge rerolls, and a limited-time exclusive bonus path that has even more rewards for players to earn over the course of the season. However, unlike the standard Battle Pass, it cannot be purchased with in-game currency and can only be obtained with a real money purchase.
Battlefield 6 is now just the latest title to introduce a premium Battle Pass, which is quickly becoming a popular yet controversial addition to many live-service titles. Although it does allow those willing to fork out the money some extra rewards, many are growing tired of the increasing number of microtransactions in premium AAA games. Call of Duty's BlackCell sparked controversy when it was introduced a few years ago for the same reason, but it's not the only other title to do so, as Apex Legends, The Finals, and Fortnite all have their own take on a premium Battle Pass.
