With the first Battlefield 6 beta set for next week, EA has confirmed the hardware specifications that will be required for PC players to participate. While Battlefield 6 fans on either PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S will be able to jump right in, playing on PC is always a little trickier. Players have the potential to experience the game's stunning visuals at the highest settings, but only if they've got a rig capable of maxing out the game's graphics.

On July 31, fans were given nearly five hours of footage during the Battlefield 6 multiplayer reveal. An epic trailer showed off the game's intense battles, vehicles, weapons, and more, but it was the event that followed shortly after which gave fans their best look at the game so far. A plethora of different content creators were given the opportunity to go hands-on with the shooter, showing off some of the game's maps, weapons, modes, and the returning traditional class system. Although fans got to see plenty during the event, they will soon have the opportunity to play themselves via some open beta weekends later this month.

Chaos Is a Ladder, and Battlefield 6’s Multiplayer Is Climbing It to the Top

If the climb is all that matters, then Battlefield 6 looks to be well ahead of Call of Duty as its multiplayer debuts an appropriately chaotic reveal.

The Battlefield 6 open beta dates have now been confirmed, with the first kicking off as early as August 7. Unfortunately, the first date is a closed, early access beta, which will only be available to those who were lucky enough to grab a code via Twitch Drops. But whether players are jumping into the early access beta or the open beta weekends that will follow shortly after, all PC players will need to make sure their rigs are up to the task. According to the official system requirements, which can be found below, those looking to play Battlefield 6 will need at least an Nvidia RTX 2060/AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT with 16GB of RAM and an Intel Core i5-8400/AMD Ryzen 5 2600 to run the game at 1080p at 30 FPS. Those looking to play at a higher resolution with 60-80 FPS will need even greater requirements.

Those who are looking to jump into the game's open beta on PC will also need to be aware that Battlefield 6 will feature EA's kernel-level anti-cheat system, Javelin. The studio's proprietary anti-cheat was launched in 2022 and would eventually be implemented into Battlefield 2042 as part of the game's Season 6 update. It was then given a "refresh" earlier this year and renamed to EA Javelin Anticheat. While the studio has already implemented it into many of its other titles, such as EA Sports FC and Madden NFL, Battlefield 6 will be the first entry in the series to launch with the anti-cheat system on day one.

With Battlefield 6's beta dates now official, August 7 is going to be a big day for FPS fans. Not only does the very first beta for the next Battlefield kick off next week, but competitor Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is also gearing up to launch its big Season 5 update on the very same day. The two titles haven't gone head-to-head for nearly four years now, as EA does not follow the same annual release schedule as Call of Duty. While the real battle will be had when Battlefield 6 launches in October and Black Ops 7 follows shortly after in November, August 7 may be a strong indicator of which series comes out on top later this year.
