Battlefield 6's recent multiplayer reveal has been received very positively by fans, coming as a breath of fresh air after the more disappointing Battlefield 2042. It looks like it's going to be a real return to form for the series when it launches on October 10. In the meantime, EA is drawing back the curtain on everything fans can expect to see in the game, and one detail has left fans particularly pleased.

Even as destructibility and mobility reach new heights, small details stand in the way of perfection for Battlefield 6's incredible immersion.

Battlefield 6 Won't Require the EA App on Steam

As reported by PC Gamer, Steam gamers will not need to launch the EA app when playing Battlefield 6, meaning the two platforms can remain totally separate. Typically, EA games over the years have forced Steam users to launch both at the same time, causing some irritation among the PC community. With EA all in on Battlefield 6, it seems to be taking all the right steps to ensure it's a slam-dunk success for the company.

It should be noted that players will still need an EA account in order to play the game. If Battlefield 6 is to have any sort of crossplay feature, it makes sense that this would be a requirement. Unfortunately, the “no EA app” requirement is only relevant to Steam users - those who buy Battlefield 6 on the Epic Games Store will still need to open the app simultaneously.

Fans don't have to wait long to see if Battlefield 6 can live up to its very lofty expectations. The first Battlefield 6 open beta is set to begin on August 9, although there's also an early access period for some from August 7. Then, a second open beta will begin on August 14 through 17, which will be very exciting for fans who simply can't wait until the full game's October 10 release date.
