New leaks have emerged from Battlefield 6 that show off what the game's planned Battle Royale mode map might look like. Battlefield 6 is set for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on October 10, 2025.
Battlefield 6 has finally been officially revealed by EA, and excitement is running high. In the five years since the lukewarm reception for the last series game, Battlefield 2042, players have demanded a return to the fundamentals of the most beloved Battlefield titles, like Battlefield 3 and 4. It looks like EA has taken those demands to heart. Details emerging from the latest Battlefield 6 reveal trailers show a near-future narrative campaign centered around a war between the US and its allies against Pax Armata, a massive mercenary company seeking to upend the global balance of power after the apparent breakup of NATO. The multiplayer reveal also hints at a wholehearted embrace of the familiar Battlefield paradigm of modern combat as well as a focus on play in highly destructible environments.

Battlefield 6 Leak Shows Off In-Development Battle Royale Map
If the latest leak is accurate, that focus on environmental destruction will also carry over into the planned Battlefield 6 Battle Royale mode. A brief video sourced from leaker 1BF's Telegram channel and posted on the Battlefield 6 subreddit showed off glimpses of a map that is apparently intended to be the first map of the Battle Royale mode. The map is reportedly based on an affluent neighborhood in the US city of Los Angeles, California, and features architectural and environmental details familiar to the region. The clip includes a flyover shot of a destroyed suburban area, with a mix of destroyed and intact houses, as well as streets flanked by tall palm trees. Interior shots also included glimpses of bombed-out walls and living rooms, as well as telltale signs of in-development work, such as brightly-colored placeholder textures and simple shapes where objects are expected to be filled in later.
The sight of the new map prompted largely positive reactions from Battlefield series fans, who were excited at the prospect of engaging in combat in familiar American suburban settings. Some relished the notion of being able to completely demolish the neighborhood over the course of a match, recalling rumors that Battlefield 6 Battle Royale will amp up the destruction. Other players praised the draw distance of the map, happy that Battlefield 6 is targeting current-generation hardware and not being held back by supporting the PS4 and Xbox One.
A few players were less positive about the concept of Battlefield being compatible with the Battle Royale paradigm. They mentioned the failure of previous Battlefield Battle Royale modes like Firestorm and Hazard Zone, and wondered if resources would be better spent shoring up "core" modes like Conquest and Demolition. Whatever the case, players will likely get a chance to test Battlefield 6 out directly when the game's open beta launches soon.
