Battlefield 6 developer DICE has disabled the Lock-Guided Missile for the Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV), almost an entire month after players discovered a severe bug that was allowing the weapon to shoot through an enemy vehicle's countermeasures. The studio has issued a new statement regarding the temporary removal of the weapon, confirming that adjustments are now being made in preparation for a new Battlefield 6 patch scheduled for next week.
Although Battlefield 6 has been a huge success for EA and DICE, the latest entry in the series hasn't been without its issues. Just this week, DICE addressed an issue with Battlefield 6's new Strikepoint game mode, which allowed players to exploit a glitch that could earn them up to 2 million XP under certain conditions. The studio was forced to make some "temporary adjustments" to XP in the mode while it investigated a more permanent solution. It's currently unclear when a long-term fix will be deployed, but fans are hopeful that it may come alongside the return of the Lock-Guided Missile for the IFV in next week's new update.

Battlefield 6 Disables The IFV's Lock-Guided Missile
As a staple of the genre, it's no surprise that vehicles are incredibly popular in Battlefield 6. However, one vehicle type in particular has been all the rage since the shooter's launch due to a severe bug. The M3A3 Bradley and STRF 09 A4 are the game's two IFVs, which come with a Lock-Guided Missile allowing them to lock on to enemy vehicles such as helicopters, tanks, and fighter jets. However, the IFV's missile has been able to completely disregard countermeasures and take down its target nearly 100% of the time. In response, DICE has disabled the weapon as it "works to address inconsistencies."
The change is now live in-game, as DICE says the weapon will return in a new update for Battlefield 6 next week. An exact date for the game's next patch was not shared, but it is unlikely to include any new content, as the studio has already revealed that a major update is scheduled to go live on November 18. The California Resistance update will come as part of Battlefield 6's very first season, adding new content to Battlefield REDSEC, a new map, and a limited-time mode to Battlefield 6, and more.
DICE has also recently rolled out a major update to Battlefield 6's challenges, following fan feedback that many of the challenges were tedious and too time-consuming. In response, the studio made adjustments to a plethora of different challenges, such as reducing the required number of LMG enemy suppressions from 300 down to just 10, and the number of revives required as Support from 200 to just 60. Weapon assignments also received some substantial changes, such as Assault Rifles only requiring 3,000 damage instead of 10,000.
