To celebrate the upcoming release of Battlefield REDSEC, the free-to-play Battle Royale title, EA is kicking off a new Twitch Drops campaign for Battlefield 6. The promotion will run from now until November 4; during this time, Battlefield 6 and Battlefield REDSEC players will be able to watch qualifying streams and earn rewards while they do. The longer that players watch a Battlefield REDSEC stream, the more rewards they'll earn, with the final one being a free soldier skin.

battlefield 6 redsec-battle royale release date

After months of rumors and gameplay leaks, EA has finally revealed its new free-to-play Battle Royale title, Battlefield REDSEC. While the studio had already confirmed the game's development earlier this year, its official title and release date remained a mystery. Rumors from trusted insiders claimed it would launch alongside Season 1 of Battlefield 6 on October 28, but suggested it would be shadow-dropped, similar to its competitor, Call of Duty: Warzone. Less than 24 hours before the update's release, EA pulled back the curtain on Battlefield REDSEC with a new teaser and confirmation that the rumors were true: the title will arrive on October 28 and be completely free-to-play.

Battlefield 6 Season 1 Twitch Drops Revealed

As Battlefield 6 and REDSEC Season 1 begin, EA is celebrating by launching another new Twitch Drops campaign. From now until November 4, players can watch their favorite content creators stream Battlefield REDSEC to earn in-game rewards. These rewards are dependent on how long a player watches a qualifying stream for. One hour unlocks the “Hitchhiking” Vehicle Decal, two hours will earn players the "Marauder" Vehicle Skin, three hours unlocks the “Highland Hunter” Weapons Package, and four hours will grant players the “No Mercy” Soldier Skin. To earn these rewards, players need to ensure they have their EA and Twitch accounts linked.

Fans have a lot to look forward to with Battlefield 6's first major content update, as Season 1 is set to introduce a plethora of new weapons, a new map, plenty of balance adjustments, and more. The season kicks off today, October 28, but will be split into three separate updates between now and December. The second patch will arrive on November 18, adding another new map, known as Eastwood, numerous weapons, a limited-time game mode, and more. Then the third and final update of Season 1 will release on December 9, featuring another new map and more content for players to check out.

Unfortunately, EA and DICE have already found themselves in hot water with fans, as players are massively upset with a new skin in Battlefield 6 Season 1. The Wicked Grin cosmetic, an Assault-class skin, quickly caught the community's attention for its blue aesthetic. Fans immediately protested against the cosmetic item and urged DICE to keep the game's skins grounded and realistic, something the studio had previously said it intends to do.
