Battlefield 6 players want to see a change made to the game's class icons. The players say that the Battlefield 6 class icons don't do a good job of visually demonstrating which class they belong to, due to being too abstract.

Battlefield 6 Just Picked Up Yet Another Win

Battlefield 6 has been off to an impressive start, with nearly a million people tuning in to watch streamers play the game. It's obvious that fans have been extremely eager to try it out for themselves, too, with the queue for the Battlefield 6 beta reaching a whopping 48,000 at one point. However, that doesn't mean that everything in the game is perfect.

PSA: Don't Just Play One Class in Battlefield 6's Beta

Battlefield 6 is putting soldier classes back in the spotlight, and those who are jumping into the beta this weekend can't stick to playing just one.

Battlefield 6 Players Don't Like the New Class Icons

On Reddit, user Pawl_The_Cone has brought up the Battlefield 6 beta's class icons, and is pointing out problems with them. They say that the class icons are "terrible," due to them being so abstract that it's difficult to determine which icon belongs to which class at first glance. The icons consist of what look like a triangle, hexagon, brackets, and a square, which many fans say don't have strong enough obvious connections to the classes they belong to. For reference's sake, the triangle is Assault, hexagon is Engineer, brackets are Support, and the square is Recon.

Numerous players have wondered why the Battlefield 6 classes' icons were made so indiscernable. Many have complained that changing the Engineer class away from a wrench makes no sense, as it's a widely recognized symbol for Engineers in multiple games, and was previously used in older Battlefield titles. Some don't like the similarities between the icons for Recon and Engineer, while others have provided their own versions of the icons, which some fans have openly preferred. One player noted that they know they'll learn the icons eventually, but that they couldn't tell which was which initially, which could mean problems for newcomers to the series. Others have taken the confusion and turned it into a joke, with one pointing out that their games so far need more "bridge class" players, referring to the Support class.

Battlefield 6 - Map - Empire State

While Battlefield 6 still has some time left before it officially launches, it's not clear if this issue will be addressed by the development team before that happens. Fans actually started pointing out the problems with the class icons months ago, but it seems that feedback hasn't been noticed or is being ignored. Changing the icons seems like an easy enough task, so with some luck, the development team will recognize the complaint and make an adjustment before Battlefield 6 officially releases on October 10.
