The first open beta weekend for Battlefield 6 has only just come to an end, but players are already showering the game's drag and revive mechanic as the best new addition in years. After multiple closed playtests earlier this year, fans finally had the chance to go hands-on with Battlefield 6 over the weekend, and they appear to have come away absolutely loving the high-octane action that the series is well-known for.

The next Battlefield game isn't set to officially launch until October 10, but if its first open beta weekend is anything to go by, the series could be about to blow Call of Duty out of the water for the very first time. While new Call of Duty titles are released annually, Battlefield hasn't been seen since the disastrous launch of Battlefield 2042 in 2021. The shooter received largely negative reviews from both players and critics, mainly due to the technical issues, lack of core features such as the traditional class system and server browser, no single-player campaign, and more. Thankfully, it looks like Battlefield is back with a bang, as fans are already praising some of the newest additions.

With all the new class changes in the Battlefield 6 Beta, one loadout is a cut above the rest, but that doesn't mean the other classes can't shred.

Battlefield 6 Fans Love the Drag and Revive Mechanic

Battlefield 6's first open beta weekend has been a huge success for EA, breaking numerous records for the franchise and receiving tons of praise from players. While there's a lot to love about Battlefield 6, the shooter's new drag and revive mechanic has become a standout addition. As the name implies, the new gameplay feature allows players to drag their fallen teammates to a safer location and then revive them to get back in the action. It makes for some pretty intense moments, which is likely why fans are praising it so much. A new post on Reddit has garnered well over 10,000 upvotes as poster MaKTaiL calls it the "best new mechanic [EA] has implemented in years."

Although the feature is relatively simple, fans do agree that it adds a whole new level of realism to Battlefield. Reddit user Yadahoom said that the drag and revive mechanic "feels super immersive" to do and see, while also noting that dragging a teammate behind cover serves a tactical purpose, making it incredibly useful. Others seem to agree, with user Sega-Forever stating that it even makes them feel "connected" with strangers. As Battlefield is much more of a team-based game than its competitor, Call of Duty, there's no denying that this is an excellent addition to the series.

Battlefield 6 Just Picked Up Yet Another Win

Fans continue to show Battlefield 6 plenty of love, but its first open beta hasn't been perfect. Alongside some serious UI complaints, fans have also requested that the "unexpectedly fast" time to death bug in Battlefield 6 be fixed for the next beta weekend. Thankfully, it looks like the team behind the shooter is well aware of the problem, as Battlefield 6's lead game designer, Florian Le Bihan, has already responded to fans. In a new post on Twitter, the developer requested that fans send any footage of the bug to the studio so they can rectify it as soon as possible.
