The Open Beta for Battlefield 6 is here, and one loadout is quickly becoming undeniable. Thanks to the Assault class’s new ability to wield two primary weapons, players can adapt to any kind of engagement on the fly. That new setup creates multiple combos that are dominating the Battlefield 6 Beta, but one stands above the rest: the unparalleled versatility and close-quarters destruction of the NVO-228E Assault Rifle and M87A1 Shotgun pairing.

Not every class in the Beta has the luxury of carrying two primaries, though, and for those classes, choosing the right weapon is even more important. Engineer, Support, and Recon players still have access to highly competitive loadouts that can be tailored for effectiveness beyond what the Assault class can provide. Choosing the right weapons and attachments for these classes can turn them into consistent slayers, making it easier to push objectives in Conquest or counter enemy advances in Breakthrough, Battlefield 6's newest game mode.

The Best Assault Loadout in Battlefield 6 Beta

NVO-228E Assault Rifle and M87A1 Shotgun pairing stands above the rest

The NVO-228E unlocks at Career Rank 5 and, though it fires slower than most assault rifles in the Beta, offers exceptional control when fully kitted. Meanwhile, the M87A1 is nothing short of monstrous in close-range encounters, capable of one-shot kills at 15 meters and two-shot kills well beyond that. It’s perfect for corner clearing on tighter Battlefield 6 maps like Siege of Cairo, but swapping to a DMR such as the M39 for a long-range map like Liberation Peak makes the loadout even more dangerous.

The Engineer class offers the SGX SMG and the M4A1

BF6 Engineer Class: M4A1 and SGX

Battlefield 6's Engineer class offers a standout weapon in the SGX SMG, but it's also the class most suited to running the best carbine in the game so far: the M4A1. Outfitted with a Compensated Brake, 14.5" Carbine Barrel, 6H64 Vertical Grip, 36RND Magazine, and Soft Point Ammo, the M4A1 becomes a flexible rifle that thrives in both tight and open maps. Its faster rate of fire comes with higher recoil, but those who master it can melt targets in seconds.

The SGX, available from Career Rank 1, is shaping up to be one of the most versatile weapons in Battlefield 6. When equipped with a Linear Compensator, 8" Extended Barrel, 6H64 Vertical Grip, 36RND Magazine, Soft Point Ammo, and a 5MW Green Laser, it delivers minimal recoil for such a blistering fire rate. At close range, it shreds, and it still keeps up with the carbines at mid-range.

Support players can use the L110 for all-purpose versatility

BF6 Support Class: L110 and KTS100 MK8

Support players in Battlefield 6 can lean on the L110 for all-purpose versatility or the KTS100 MK8 for unmatched accuracy. The Long Suppressor, 349mm Fluted Barrel, 100RND Belt Pouch, Full Metal Jacket Ammo, and Stippled Stubby Grip combine to give the L110 maximum consistency for any type of engagement.

The KTS100 MK8 features minimal weapon sway, thanks to the ‘constant recoil’ system borrowed from the weapon's real-life counterpart, the Ultimax-100. With a Single Port Brake, 508mm MK8 Barrel, 6H64 Vertical Grip, and Synthetic Tip Ammo, it can put down precise, suppressive fire that often translates into a high kill count to boot.

The M2010 ESR is the only sniper rifle in the Beta, but it more than holds its own.

BF6 Recon Class: M2010 ESR

While the M2010 ESR is the only sniper rifle in the Beta, it more than holds its own. If equipped with a Flash Hider, 26" Carbon Barrel, Full-Angled Grip, 5-Round Magazine, DLC Bolt, Rangefinder, and AG Coating, it becomes a headshot machine. Its default body-shot damage is lackluster, but unlocking the Recon class-exclusive Killshot Field Spec ensures headshots are instantly fatal and non-revivable, which is a game-changer on wide-open maps like Liberation Peak.

The Battlefield 6 Beta runs August 9–10 and August 14–17, and these loadouts stand out as some of the most effective options so far. There’s no guarantee these builds will remain dominant by the game’s full launch on October 10, 2025, but for now, they are some great options for players looking to get the most out of the test.
