Battlefield 6 has shared a plethora of incoming changes based on the player input obtained throughout the game's public beta rounds. After recently wrapping up its final open beta, Battlefield 6 will next be playable to the public when it officially rolls out on October 10.

Battlefield 6 Reveals Most Popular Classes from the Beta

Almost four years after the underwhelming launch of Battlefield 2042, DICE and its partner developers under the Battlefield Studios umbrella are seemingly poised to make a successful comeback in 2025. This feeling of assurance is rooted in the record-breaking performance of Battlefield 6's open beta tests earlier in August, during which over half-a-million players joined the game simultaneously, on Steam alone, at one point of time. Now, the devs seem to be taking what they learned from those sessions and putting it to use to improve the player experience in the upcoming title.

Battlefield 6 has stolen its competitor’s thunder once already, and is sure to do so again - but it has a third chance to really steal the spotlight.

Battlefield 6 to Get a Multitude of Changes Based on Test Feedback

The Battlefield 6 devs revealed a long list of changes, drawing from both player feedback and in-game data, that is set to be implemented in the game. To make the gunplay rewarding and more consistent, they are adding general pass on recoil and introducing tap-fire characteristics for all weapons. Certain changes are set to push players to rely more on controlled tap-firing and burst firing, whereas more changes are currently being considered for Time-to-Kill and Time-to-Death experiences. The M87A1 shotgun has also been tweaked to require more pellets than before to get a kill. Moreover, Battlefield 6's player movement has undergone significant tinkering, including reduced momentum when transitioning from a slide to a jump, reduced jump height to tackle jump spamming, and increased inaccuracy when firing during a jump or a slide.

Battlefield Studios acknowledged players' grievances about the small maps deployed in the beta phase and announced that two bigger maps, including one based on Battlefield 3's Operation Firestorm, will be made available in a future invite-only playtest. Importantly, the game's maps are being reworked to prevent access to areas supposed to be out of bounds. Dropping into any map area has also been made easier, thanks to improved parachute control. The devs also shared that maps and modes won't be locked to a certain player count and will constantly change in that regard based on feedback, in order to "best fit the intended experience." In line with this approach, the default number of players for Rush has been lowered, in favor of the "flow of combat" and the fan-favorite mode's "tactical, methodical experience."

As Battlefield 6 moves closer to its launch, most things appear to be going in its favor. The way things are right now, it seems like Battlefield may have a fair chance to outdo Call of Duty this year. However, it will be worth noting if the zeitgeist around Black Ops 7 changes positively when its own beta begins on October 2.
