Neither EA nor DICE has confirmed exactly when the highly anticipated Battle Royale for Battlefield 6 will be released, but rumors and leaks continue to mount up, as a trusted source has now revealed the full line-up of modes for its supposed Season 1 launch. While the season's official roadmap doesn't mention anything about Battlefield 6's Battle Royale mode, it has previously been rumored that it will launch on October 28, the very same day as Season 1.
After months of rumors and leaks, EA announced Battlefield 6's Battle Royale mode back in September. The reveal came as the studio kicked off testing for the mode in Battlefield Labs, allowing lucky participants to go hands-on before its official release. EA said it saw a "great opportunity" to infuse the core pillars of Battlefield, such as class-based squadplay, tactical destruction, and vehicle combat, into the Battle Royale genre to create high-stakes and adrenaline-pumping gameplay.

Battlefield 6 Leaker Reveals Battle Royale Game Modes
EA may have pulled back the curtain on the mode, but it has yet to be confirmed as to when Battlefield 6's Battle Royale will actually be released. Previous rumors have suggested it will come alongside the game's Season 1 update on October 28, and now leaker Shaun Weber, who accurately revealed the shutdown of XDefiant, has leaked the line-up of launch modes. In a new post on Twitter, Weber claims that Battle Royale will launch with the standard Solos, Duos, Trios, and Quads modes, as well as another free-to-play mode known as Gauntlet. The description from the leaker states that the mode will see players battle to complete a series of missions where squads with the lowest score in each mission are eliminated until the last team alive wins.
A follow-up response from Weber also claims that Battlefield 6' s Battle Royale will have proximity chat, which will allow players to communicate with each other via voice chat when within a certain distance of each other. These claims were also seemingly backed up by ModernWarzone, who leaked the rumored October 28 release date for the mode, replying with a gif stating, "Well, there it is."
Its release date may remain unconfirmed as of writing, but EA has revealed how its take on the Battle Royale genre will set itself apart from its competitors. One way Battlefield 6 plans to take the Battle Royale mode to the next level is with an incredibly destructive and deadly storm circle. The studio has called it the "deadliest ring in Battle Royale," as it will instantly kill players upon contact. This means players won't be able to use the storm to their advantage as they can in titles such as Call of Duty: Warzone or Fortnite, as this will result in instant elimination.
Battlefield 6 Season 1 is set to launch on October 28, and while there was no mention of Battle Royale on the roadmap, fans can expect a brand-new map, mode, weapons, vehicle, and more to arrive next week. Two more updates are also planned for November 18 and December 9, both bringing even more content to the title as part of its very first season.
