While coming across the occasional player more intent on griefing others than enjoying the game isn’t an uncommon occurrence in Battlefield 2042, some gamers are calling for EA and developer DICE to take action as a Battlefield streamer enters into their tenth month of being subjected to a targeted harassment campaign by stream snipers. Earlier this month DICE released update 5.0.1 for Battlefield 2042, bringing some drastic balance changes to some fan-favorite weapons in the multiplayer shooter.

A new post on Twitter by The Gamer Update host Jake Lucky has highlighted the vicious, targeted harassment campaign that one Battlefield 2042 streamer has been subjected to for nearly a year. A remarkably talented Battlefield 2042 helicopter pilot, streamer AsheBF has been the victim of stream snipers who will sometimes fill entire lobbies in an attempt to harass him. One incredible clip, which can be viewed here, sees AsheBF deftly avoiding numerous helicopters, jets, and ground-based stream snipers before eventually being eliminated. Although the piloting skills on display are impressive, some of the lengths the stream snipers have gone to in order to harass him are truly shocking.

A follow-up tweet provided more background about the harassment campaign that AsheBF has been subjected to, highlighting one particularly dark tactic used by the stream snipers. In a short video clip, AsheBF explains that he had a close personal friend and fellow player who died by suicide last year. Seizing on this unfortunate loss to try to rattle the streamer, one harasser changed their in-game screenname to that of the deceased friend in a recent match. As other players dive into the new content in Battlefield 2042 Season 5, this streamer just wants to be able to play in peace.

The tweets explaining the situation call on EA and DICE to take action against the ongoing harassment but, with the Battlefield developers facing harassment of their own at the moment, it’s unclear if anything will be done to stop it. For now, at least, it looks like AsheBF will continue to be targeted by some of the internet’s worst elements.
