Enter the Shadow Cursed Lands

At the end of Act 1, you are tasked with heading to the Shadow Cursed Lands by way of the Underdark or the Mountain Pass. It is recommended to explore both of these areas before moving to the Shadow Cursed Lands. The final choice only changes which side of this new area you will arrive in at the beginning of Act 2.

Gain Immunity From the Shadow Cursebaldur's-gate-3-protection-spell

The Shadow Cursed Land is affected by a suffocating darkness that deals necrotic damage to your party. The first goal should be to find protection against it. Use a torch to stave off the Shadow Curse until you reach the Last Light Inn. It's hard to miss, just look for the large bubble shield over the Inn in the distance. Meet Isobel at the Inn to receive Selune's Blessing so you no longer have to use a torch.

There are certain parts of the Shadow Cursed Lands where the Shadow Curse is even stronger. For these areas, you need a Moonlantern. If you enter through the Mountain Pass you will find an enemy squad. Convince the Spider enemy to give it to you or fight him for it. If you enter through the Underdark you will meet a group of Harpers fighting shadows. Help them, and they will point you toward the Last Light Inn. Meet Isobel, and then the Harpers will ask for help ambushing the spider-led squad with them. The Moonlantern will block the Shadow Curse as long you are holding it.

Get to the Abandoned House

Once you can fend off the curse, head to the abandoned house directly to the east of the Last Light Inn.

Cross the small land bridge, and you will see a signpost warning of the stronger Shadow Curse ahead. The abandoned house has two entrances and a chest in the yard.

Unlock the Opulent Chest

Head straight in from the door facing the Last Light Inn. There is a small room with a skeleton and an Opulent Chest.
