Summary
- Baldur's Gate 3 has more updates in the works.
- Future updates will introduce photo mode and crossplay.
Larian Studios has teased fans with what they can expect from future Baldur's Gate 3 updates. Baldur's Gate 3 is still receiving sizable new updates over a year after its release, with one of the biggest dropping just recently.
The latest Baldur's Gate 3 update, the long-awaited Patch 7, added fresh Evil Ending cinematics to the game and made a huge number of bug fixes. PC gamers are able to download the latest Baldur's Gate 3 update right now, but those on consoles are still waiting for it to arrive on their platforms of choice. Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 7 will hit consoles in October, and while it will be one of the last major updates for the beloved RPG, there are still more updates on the horizon.
Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 7 Seemingly Makes 1 Boss Nearly Impossible to Defeat
Following the release of Patch 7, one Baldur's Gate 3 boss encountered fairly in the game appears to be nearly impossible to defeat in Honour Mode.
Larian has confirmed that there are more updates on the way for Baldur's Gate 3. New features coming to the game include crossplay and photo mode, which have been highly-requested by the Baldur's Gate 3 community. Other fixes and updates are also in the works for the game, though Larian stopped short of providing specifics on that front. It will definitely be interesting to see what else is in store for Baldur's Gate 3, though the support will eventually come to an end.
What's Coming in Future Baldur's Gate 3 Updates
- Photo Mode
- Crossplay
- Bug fixes and other updates
Larian has already started work on its next projects. Nothing official has been announced when it comes to Larian's future games beyond the fact that they will not be Baldur's Gate 4. Larian is leaving Dungeons & Dragons behind for its next game, though it's anyone's guess as to what form it will take. One has to imagine that Larian will make another turn-based RPG in the same style as Baldur's Gate 3 and its Divinity series, but there's always the chance that the studio will put out something completely unexpected instead.
Looking at Larian's history, it's likely that its next game will be out within the next five years or so. Three years separated Divinity: Original Sin and its sequel, while Baldur's Gate 3 came out a whopping six years after Original Sin 2. However, with support for Baldur's Gate 3 continuing for so long after its release, and with more updates on the way, perhaps the wait for the studio's next project will be an even longer one. Whatever the case may be, Baldur's Gate 3 has set the bar extremely high, and so it will be exciting to see if Larian is able to meet expectations or exceed them.
