One Baldur's Gate 3 modder has given Astarion a couple of new sets of clothes inspired by Interview with the Vampire. While Astarion is revealed through Baldur's Gate 3's story to be a vampire spawn under the control of Cazador, these outfits place him in the role of another famous vampire, Lestat de Lioncourt.

Created by author Anne Rice, Lestat is a main or supporting character of several books in the novel series The Vampire Chronicles, though whether he is a villain or an antihero is a hot topic of debate among the series' fandom. The first book in the series, titled Interview with the Vampire, has spawned both a 1994 movie and an ongoing television series on AMC that began in 2022, with Sam Reed and Tom Cruise filling the role of Lestat in the Interview with the Vampire TV series and film, respectively.

These two new outfits for Astarion come packaged in a mod titled Astarion's Vampire Outfits by Ren, made by NexusMods user DarthRen, and players who download the mod will find both sets of clothing in the game's tutorial chest. The first outfit, called the Lavish Outfit, is an intricately detailed black number, with a plunging v-neck, detailed embroidery, a split-tailed coat, and a glossy-looking finish. The other outfit, titled the Lestat Outfit, is more modest and traditional, featuring a frilled white shirt with a lace-up front and a pair of tight gray slacks adorned with several black buttons. Both outfits are considered camp clothes, so they won't provide any armor for Astarion, but they will allow the player to interact with him in a new way during more intimate scenes at camp.

Inspirations Behind Baldur's Gate 3's Interview with the Vampire Clothing

While the creator didn't cite the specific inspirations for these costumes, they seem to pay homage to both the film and the television series. The Lestat outfit appears very similar to Cruise's appearance as Lestat in the film version, while the long black coat included in the Lavish Outfit seems much more reminiscent of one worn by Reed in the television series. Whichever set of clothes players choose, the mod provides some fun new cosmetic options for those who enjoy playing as or with Astarion in Baldur's Gate 3.

In addition to providing new looks for Astarion, both of these pieces of Baldur's Gate 3 clothing can also be applied to any character with the Male Body Type 1 frame. Also, for those not enthralled with the color scheme, both can be fully dyed.
