Baldur's Gate 3 is a massive RPG using lore and characters from Dungeons & Dragons. There are all kinds of secrets hidden throughout the large world of Faerun. Baldur's Gate 3's Act 3 finally brings the party to the doorstep of the titular city. First, you must spend some time in the small town of Rivington on the outskirts of the city.
This town is bustling with an influx of refugees and a spate of grisly murders. An evil threat is looming in the shadows of Rivington, and it's up to you to stop it. You may come upon a well in the center of town while exploring. Here is how to open up a shortcut by moving the rock in the Rivington Well.
Baldur's Gate 3: Best Class Combinations For Co-Op
When choosing adventuring companions in the world of Baldur's Gate 3, it's important that their skills complement each other.
Rivington Well Location
The Rivington Well is located on the right side of the main road through Rivington. Look for it below Baldur's Gate 3's Sword Coast Couriers and across from the Open Hand Temple. There will be two women arguing in front of the well.
The exact location of the well is at coordinates (X:10, Y:-14.) Walk up to the well and click on it to descend using the rope.
Rivington Cave
This will lead downward into a cave below the town. Hop from each rocky platform in the water heading across the area. You will need Laezel and her jumping ability, as some characters may struggle to jump so far. At the far left end of the cave, you will find a group of dead refugees. They won't have much on them to loot. There is a chest near them that may have a few valuable trinkets you can sell.
Past the refugees is another large gap that you must jump. Across that gap is a large stone blocking the exit to the cave.
How to Use the Winch
If you move the camera to the right of the large rock, you will see a rope. Follow this rope as it goes further right, ending at a circular winch. All you need to do is hit it with any sort of ranged attack. Doing so will activate the wheel and pull the rock away from the exit of the cave.
Jump across and exit the cave to find yourself on the lower beach area under the Wyrm's Rock bridge. Continue exploring this area for some interesting encounters.
