There are many weapons in Baldur’s Gate 3, and one of the properties that players can find is Light. This attribute is associated to Clubs, Daggers, Handaxes, Hand Crossbows, Light Hammers, Scimitars, Shortswords, and Sickles, allowing for a versatile way to play in Baldur’s Gate 3 that will allow them to dual wield weapons. Players can hold two Light weapons in both the Main Hand and the Off Hand, granting unique Bonus Actions and more damage.
Yet, if players want to truly maximize the capabilities of their playstyle, then perhaps it's worth finding the best Light weapon in Baldur’s Gate 3. There are plenty to choose from, and players will never be short of an arsenal of weaponry, as long as they know where to look and what the weapon does.
7 Ritual Dagger
1~4 Damage
- Where To Find: Found on the table next to Abdirak in the Shattered Sanctum
- Effects: The Pain Maidsen’s Blessing – After a successful attack with this dagger, the wielder receives a +1d4 bonus to Attack Rolls and Saving Throws until the end of their turn.
- Weapon Actions: Blood Sacrifice, Piercing Strike
A dagger is always a great choice for those with an act of stealth and careful striking. Whilst the damage is nothing to brag about, it’s the special effects that are. With the bonus to Attack Rolls for each attack, paired with the Blood Sacrifice Bonus Action, players can even further increase their Attack Roll bonus, but at the cost of taking some Slashing damage for themselves, so it’s best reserved for enemies that just dodge every single attack thrown at them, especially in Act 1.
6 Hand Crossbow +2
3~8 Damage
- Where To Find: Hidden inside a wall vault, the second floor of Lady Jannath’s Estate
- Effects: None
- Weapon Actions: Piercing Shot, Mobile Shot
Whilst the Hand Crossbow +2 has no desirable effects and mere basic weapon actions, the fact that it has great high damage for a light crossbow is all the more reason to pick it up. Light weapons are great to dual-wield, and grabbing one of these will mean that players will be able to attack their turns more than once, especially if they have invested in the correct build. Whilst simple, the Hand Crossbow +1 does as it should.
5 Stillmaker
3~6 Damage
- Where To Find: Found within the Open Hand Temple (d5 Perception check required at X:67 Y-1018)
- Effects: None
-
Weapon Actions: Pommel Strike, Piercing Strike, Lacerate,
Hold Person
A +2 dagger variant, the Stillmaker has a twisting blade design to try and nick the flesh of its victim as many times as possible.
Baldur's Gate 3: 22 Things To Do Before Going To Act 2
There is a lot to pack into Larian's RPG, but some stops are definitely worth making before progressing past the first act of Baldur's Gate 3.
It’s a horribly violent-looking weapon and paired with the Hold Person effect, players can make their targets susceptible to attacks and unable to move, allowing for players to unleash a flurry of attack moves from this great light weapon in Baldur’s Gate 3.
4 Knife of the Undermountain King
3~8 Damage
- Where To Find: Purchased or looted from A’jak’nir Jeera in Creche Y’llek
- Effects: Organ Rearranger– Reduce the number you need to roll a Critical Hit while attacking by 1. When they roll 2 damage or less, reroll the dice, taking the highest result. Shadow Blade – You have an Advantage on Attack Rolls against Lightly or Heavily Obscured targets when using this blade
- Weapon Actions: Flourish, Piercing Strike
A Very Rare shortsword that exists within the realm of light weapons, the
Knife of the Undermountain King has bonuses when it comes to rolling a Critical Hit. The fact that players can roll a 2 or less and have the ability to reroll for no extra downside is a great advantage that will see the blade warrant much use, especially to those in stealth or those with an act for spotting enemies obscured in shadow.
3 Sussur Dagger
2~5 Damage
-
Where To Find: Combine a Dagger with
Sussur Tree Bark
in the Blacksmith’s Forge, Blighted Village
- Effects: Silences targets on hit
- Weapon Actions: Piercing Strike
Hand-crafting a weapon like this deserves to be wielded, and the
Sussur Dagger is great against those magic wielders who can’t shut up.
Baldur's Gate 3: 7 Worst Decisions You Can Make
Baldur's Gate 3 holds some truly terrible choices that the player can make, with these decisions forever altering the fate of the characters.
Hitting an enemy with the Sussur Dagger will grant Silence, which means that the hit opponent cannot use verbal commands, thus shutting down their ability to use most spells. This is great for light weapon users who want to stealth through their game.
2 Justiciar’s Scimitar
3~8 Damage
- Where To Find: Looted off of Lyrthindor in the Gauntlet of Shar
- Effects: Shadow-Binding – If you attack with Advantage, you have a chance to Blind your target
- Weapon Actions: Weakening Strike, Flourish, Shadowsoaked Blow
The idea of using a weapon capable of Blinding enemies is great, especially when this causes Disadvantage on Attack Rolls and reduces the range of ranged attacks and spells. Blinding with each strike can help overpower the battlefield, especially since this is a scimitar, which is one of the best weapon types in Baldur’s Gate 3 for light and finesse players.
1 Bloodthirst
3~6 Damage
- Where To Find: Defeat Orin and loot her body
- Effects: Improved Critical – The number you need to roll a Critical Hit when attacking is reduced by 1. This effect can stack. Bound Weapon – The weapon cannot be knocked out of the wielder’s hand and returns to the wielder when Thrown. Exploit Weakness – Creatures hit with this weapon receive Vulnerability to Perciing damage (Main Hand Only). True Strike Riposte – When a creature misses you with a melee attack, you may retaliate and gain True Strike
- Weapon Actions: True Strike, Piercing Strike
Anyone who knows Orin knows that a weapon from her is nothing to scoff at. This Legendary Dagger is cemented as one of the best thanks to the fact that it makes Critical Hits far more likely, and players can cast True Strike at will, which allows for further Advantage on their next Attack Roll. Players can also mix and match as a Main Hand or Off-Hand weapon for different effects.
