How to Get More Lockpicks in Avowed
You can occasionally loot lockpicks off of enemy corpses after combat. However, the most reliable source of lockpicks is the many merchants in the Living Lands. The easiest to find will be Lynna's shop at Claviger's Landing. Lynna usually has three in her store inventory. You can also purchase lockpicks at Second Hand Sundries in Shantytown. Desperate Measures, Extremely Legal Goods, and Grinning Balarok are all shops in Paradis that regularly carry lockpicks.
It's only 17 copper to purchase lockpicks from the consumable tab of any merchant. Make sure to buy some whenever you're in town or near a merchant. Some merchants have randomized inventories, so check if they have some lockpicks available.
How to Pick Locks in Avowed
Picking a lock is simple in Avowed. All you need to do is hold the X button to open a locked chest. As long as you have the required number of lockpicks, the chest will open and you can pilfer its contents. There is no minigame or skill check needed. Lockpicks are destroyed once you've used them. How to Restock Merchants
Purchase all the lockpicks or other consumables from a shop inventory, and they won't return for some time. Thankfully, there is a way to get merchants to restock in Avowed. Find any party camp location while you are exploring the Living Lands. Fast travel to it and then leave camp. Activate the camp and then leave five times or more to push time forward. Return to the merchant and their inventory should be replenished. This is a useful way to grab important items like lockpicks and potions.
