About Tom Bowen

Tom Bowen is a senior editor who loves adventure games and RPGs. He's been playing video games for several decades now and writing about them professionally since 2020. Although he dabbles in news and features from time to time, he spends most of his time writing guides these days.

Favorite Games

Tom plays a bit of everything but will always have a soft spot for point-and-click adventure series like Monkey Island and Broken Sword. Also Shenmue, and just about everything else made by Yu Suzuki. His favorite Final Fantasy game seems to change every time someone asks him, but right now he's leaning toward 10 > 6 > 7. When it comes to Zelda, he prefers classic titles like Windwaker and A Link to the Past to the newer 3D open-world stuff.

Favorite Console

Tom's owned pretty much every home console over the years but none have brought him quite as much joy as the Sega Dreamcast. It had some of the best games of its era and was years ahead of its time when it came to features.

Proudest Gaming Achievement

Tom once managed to beat The Secret of Monkey Island in under an hour, which, had he bothered to record it, would have placed him among the top 25 runners on SpeedRun.com.
