About Shane R. Moyer
Shane R. Moyer is a Game Review and Preview Writer from the United States and is currently located in California. He has been playing video games since the Atari 2600, worked as a Compliance Specialist and QA Tester at Electronic Arts, Konami, and Cryptic Studios, and has been writing published articles since 1997, when he joined a local newspaper to report on high school sports.
He is an avid PC, PS5 and Switch gamer, with reviews on The Best War Games ranging from AAA titles like Diablo 4, to Indie games like Indika.
Shane is proud of working for a digital publication like The Best War Games, and hopes he can give readers the rundown on new games for many years to come!
Favorite Games
Shane's favorite game of all time is Final Fantasy 6 (or 3 if you're using the American release). Other favorite titles include the Monster Hunter series, Warframe, the Battlefield games, various Street Fighter titles, and most recently, Helldivers 2. RPG's will always hold a special place in his heart, as he has spent countless hours lost in those digital worlds created by others.
Favorite Anime
Shane's favorite anime of all time is Eyeshield 21, (アイシールド21:Aishīrudo Nijūichi). A football fan when he was younger, the antics of the Deimon Devil Bats brought him much joy and helped inspire his love of anime in general. Though dated looking now, the art style and personalities of the show were always entertaining to him and he hopes others will seek it out for its sense of revelry in competition and sports.
Proudest Gaming Achievement
In 2009, Shane participated in EVO, the largest fighting game tournament in the world. He played Street Fighter IV, winning his first three matches before losing the next two and being bounced from the tournament. An E. Honda main, just being able to participate in EVO was a dream come true, and although he lacks the time to practice the way he used to, he still watches the tournament every year and is looking forward to seeing even more Street Fighter 6!
