About Oluwatokiloba Folami
Oluwatokiloba, a freelance creative writer and editor living in Lagos, strikes a delicate balance between his academic studies at the University of Lagos and his love for writing. He is a voracious manga reader and anime fanatic, drawing inspiration from fantasy worlds and intriguing characters. When not absorbed in a manga, he leads an active lifestyle of hitting the gym. His passion for learning extends beyond the pages of his law textbooks, as he is continuously seeking new knowledge and abilities to help him grow personally and professionally.
Favorite Anime
Oregairu tops the list (for now). Its painfully relatable characters like Hachiman, whose struggles with loneliness and fitting in hit emotionally. Oregairu doesn't sugarcoat relationships, showing them as messy and complicated as they are in real life. It dives deep into themes of identity and self-worth, all while keeping things light with witty dialogue and sarcastic humor. The emotional depth, gorgeous animation, and fitting soundtrack seal the deal, making Oregairu an unforgettable watch.
Favorite Games
Assassin's Creed, because parkouring across rooftops, scaling towering structures, and silently eliminating targets makes me feel like a true master assassin. The combat is equally exhilarating, with a satisfying mix of swordplay, stealth, and other equipment. Discovering hidden secrets, uncovering ancient artifacts, and piecing together the lore is incredibly rewarding.
Favorite TV Shows
Archer, for its perfect blend of 'espionage,' outrageous humor, and dysfunctional characters. Rick and Morty for its blend of high-concept sci-fi, existential philosophy, and dark humor. Westworld because it explores the nature of reality raises important questions about our humanity. Lastly, The Boys because of its refreshing take on the superhero genre, offers a satirical look at the corruption and fun of 'superheroes.'
