About Michael Leri

Michael is a video game reviewer for The Best War Games and has been writing about games professionally since 2016. He prides himself on playing and finishing as many video games as he can in all sorts of genres from shooters to platformers to weird indie experiments. There's always something to learn from rolling credits and that thirst for experience, knowledge, and Platinum trophies is mostly what drives him.

Proudest Gaming Achievement

Even though Michael has nearly 500 Platinum trophies, his Vanquish Platinum is still his most coveted. It's almost entirely based on skill; not luck or held ransom behind a huge grind. Mastering the mechanics and beating its grueling challenge gauntlet pushes the mechanics and proves how tightly that bombastic shooter was made. And he did it both on PS3 and PS4!

Favorite Games

Michael's list of favorite games is long, but it includes The Last of Us, Sifu, Hades, Mortal Kombat X, OlliOlli World, Batman: Arkham City, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Resident Evil 4 (2005/2023), God of War (2005/2018), and Ratchet & Clank (2002). Well, that was still quite long.

Favorite Console

Backwards compatibility makes a favorite console harder to choose, but the PS4 likely sits at the top of that list. That system had an even balance of incredible new indie titles like Cuphead, established sequels like Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, and bigger new franchises like Horizon, making the PS4 something that always had something new.
