About Melody MacReady
Melody MacReady is a writer and transwoman (she/her), passionate about all things pop culture-related. From movies to shows to games to comic books, there is not much that she does not enjoy or appreciate. Melody is also an aspiring novelist, comic book writer, and content creator as a hobby. This spark for content creation came from her childhood, growing up with media of all kinds which inspired her to write short stories, write comics, and begin writing about them on the internet. Melody's biggest inspiration came from first seeing Zack Snyder's Watchmen in 2009; the film combined with her knowledge of how scenes were done via behind-the-scenes featurettes before the film's release made her fall in love with entertainment.
Favorite Games
She enjoys many franchises including Mortal Kombat as her favorite, The Legend Of Zelda, Mass Effect, Marvel's Spider-Man, Super Mario, Borderlands, Doom, Tomb Raider, Pokemon, XCOM, and more.
Favorite Movies
Melody MacReady grew up with a wide variety of films as a child, including ones that perhaps children shouldn't see such as Ridley Scott's Alien, but it ended up being a pivotal part of her library of movies. Other favorites of hers include the Back To The Future trilogy, Watchmen, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Treasure Planet, Star Wars movies, and John Carpenter's The Thing.
Favorite Console
Melody finds it hard to pick just one console to love. In terms of what is currently available, she loves her custom PC and the PlayStation 5. However, her history with consoles has been all across the board: growing up with the Nintendo 64 then hopping to the PlayStation 2. Then came the Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360 which evolved into owning the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, and now she owns the PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Melody does have many fond memories of the Xbox 360 era thanks to many classic titles including Batman: Arkham Asylum and Borderlands 2.
